See if i can fix this sucker!!! 39 Day Run Time

Ok onto the FIX for : a0302203, a0002120, a0801002

I started thinking could it be rsx i mean Sony did the chip install hah like that means much.... Anyways i got that out of my head.. Probed rails voltages are all there everywhere.... Ok SCOPE time...

Target Test point:
image-1773358168303.jpg

DC Coupling looked pretty ok little high then drop down but not suspect...
20260312_130250.jpg

Ok lets go with AC on DC vddc and see if there is anything there AC coupling to inspect ripple
image-1773358186755.jpg

Ok that is pretty suspect when we should be seeing soemthing like this from a working good board...
20260312_212714.jpg

Lets test an idea here
image-1773362527053.jpg

That one cap tighten that ripple a bit ehh??? Console now stays on. Not going to check if video lets just proceed
20260312_194232.jpg

Ok Replace all the tokins even though CELL looked pretty solid but hey lets get it done....
Ill do a couple at a time.... and check ripple as i go...
20260312_191115.jpg

Get the tweeks out!!!
20260312_191426.jpg

20260312_192605.jpg

Aighty not to bad could be better but ah is what it is lets test em make sure there in spec or better
20260312_192716.jpg

Aight Low melt Pretin 132C i know you guys liek to iron these on but that is incorrect sorry to say
20260312_193415.jpg

20260312_193053.jpg

Flow to board 350 / 50 air now i got a 1200$ weller so your millage with your low end stuff may vary...
20260312_193746.jpg

Done all 8
20260312_212700.jpg

20260312_212707.jpg

LOL got to work on smd alignment on the 8050's :) i think really its how the end pads are designed there one plane tin poin on em so they like to pull together anways...

Ok lets see final scope here on this board AC Coupling
image-1773358223574.jpg

Boom pretty much same across the board cleaned up and tight....

Welp looks Japanese hah sure nuff A00

Ok cool deal so KEY take away here is what??
Nothing to DO with HDMI - a0302203, a0002120 and?

DC coupling shows the full signal, meaning the DC rail voltage plus any ripple riding on it. This is useful for verifying that a rail is present and at the correct voltage. AC coupling removes the DC portion and shows only the changing part of the signal, such as ripple, spikes, and switching noise. In this repair, AC coupling was especially helpful because it made the RSX rail ripple easy to compare before and after adding temporary capacitance. When a temporary tantalum capacitor was added across the RSX rail, the ripple cleaned up significantly. When the capacitor was removed, the poor ripple returned. After replacing the RSX-side bulk decoupling, the ripple matched the known-good board much more closely. This showed that the original rail had weak decoupling and that the NEC/TOKIN replacement would corrected the problem without even doing it or wasting time and money on it.

Oh oone thing i wanted to point out with the NEC removal i forgot this stuff here works a treat i use these for iphone / samsung popsoc memory package removal on the CPU slices it right off no pressure not much force works really well on the NEC tokins the blade is awesome!

None of the madness i have seen on youtube what so ever these are razor sharp and non scratch surface design on button blade portion use with wedge angle upwards away from board!!!

You can scop ethese or buy them here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/147189094858

Thought i would point that out i see people murdering boards or so i thinks haha me this is the right deal here you will need a handle for it you can also find under items
