PS2 Fat PS2 Test Point Location Diagrams B-H Chassis V2-V9

I made some diagrams showing the locations of the 3.3v, Tx, Rx, RMC and Ground test points on the GH-05 - GH-23 motherboards.

This is most useful for the PMAP application.

V0-1 and V10-11 have been omitted from the pack as I don't have access to those consoles right now though if I do I'll update the folder with them.

UPDATE 17/11/20. GH-05 added. GH-04 might have the same test points but I'm not completely sure so proceed with caution.

UPDATE 15/04/21. GH-18 added. It's the same as all the other G-Chassis consoles.

UPDATE 06/07/22 GH-01, GH-03 and XPD-005 added. Thanks Niino :)

Enjoy!

These should be the relevant GH-001 ("v0", A-chassis) test points. Probably identical on GH-003, but NOT GH-008. Didn't test it though. Will do this later or tomorrow.

EDIT: Tested and works. But in the case of my USB TTL adapter, it only works if the 3V3 of the adapter is not connected to the PS2. If it is, the PS2 won't turn on and the adapter shuts off. The adapter generates it's own 3V3 on that pin, which probably interferes with the 3V3 generation on the PS2. Also, it obviously isn't necessary, since it worked fine without.

This is not an issue with my RS-232 TTL converter which runs fine from the 3V3 supplied by the PS2 with no problems. (It has no internal power generation and actually requires external 3V3, so there's no interference)

Figured out the test points of XPD-005 (PSX DESR-x500 and DESR-x700 mainboard). They are probably identical on XPD-001 (PSX DESR-x00 and DESR-x100), since the section under the mechacon is pretty much identical, with only a few differences on how the ground plane is laid out.

The usefulness of this is limited at the moment, as it mostly only allows showing some console information and dumping/restoring the EEPROM. Adjustment is not possible, since PMAP does not support any PSX chassis at the moment. It might however come in handy with some progress on reverse engineering the Dragon-Mechacon firmware, which has been dumped (last year, I think?).
