PS2 Faulty disc drive/controller/fuse on fat PS2?

Hi. For a few years, I've had this problem with my PS2 and I was wondering if somebody can help me to fix it.
In 2019 I bought a used SCPH-50006 and since it had some issues reading discs, I decided to clean it up. When I tried to reassemble the disc drive, I didn't align the sled properly, as seen in this video: https://www.reddit.com/r/ps2/comments/e3nkh1/help_fixing_this/

Once I managed to align it properly, a new issue came along: the disc tray wouldn't even try to eject, as you can see here (sorry for the background noise):

And my PS2 has been in this state for the last few years, but now I decided I want to fix it. The first thing I tried to fix this was to replace the disc drive with one from another 5000X console. This didn't work, however.
My second plan was to test the fuses, so a few weeks ago I decided to buy a multimeter. From what I could find, PS13 (5V regulator) is dead, and since I can't find SMD fuses right now, I decided to bridge the connections just to try if it would solve the issue: it didn't.

Now I'm thinking the LA6508 chip might be the culprit, but I'm not even sure how to test it or if it is even related to the eject mechanism.

Any advice is welcome, thanks in advance.

I'll try to help, come on.

From what I saw in your video, it's not a problem with the LA controller because the blue LED lit all the time indicates that the system has identified the reader drive, and who is responsible for showing the system that the drive is connected is LA, so he is fine.
The flat cables seem to be well connected too, because if the person responsible for rotating the disk or opening the tray was absent, the blue led would not be on constantly, it would just flash and then go out.

Do you hear the engine turning or something similar when trying to open the drawer? If possible, record another video but with the cell phone very close to the tray and try to open it, in a quiet place, for me to try to hear the sound and identify the problem.
If you have this noise of the engine turning, as if you tried to open the tray but you can't, it is the motor responsible for opening the tray that is slipping the belt or with it missing / burst, record the video and send the link here please.

Does the reader mechanism itself, motor and lens, etc., make any noise when turning on the device? It's hard to identify noises with just this video.

Thanks for the reply. I hope this video makes the issue more clear:
As far as I can tell, there's no sound coming from the disc drive. It's not trying to open at all.

Here's another video showing how it doesn't even spin the disc. The laser beams light at a point, though it's not very visible in the video.

when you turn on the device, the reader should move forward and then rotate the disk, if you feel confident that you can do this without damaging anything and you have experience, disassemble the device, remove the flat cables from the drive (there are three in total) being careful not to break them and replace them, there is one of them, the thickest, it looks like it is correctly inserted but you have to do a little force for it to fit correctly, if it is poorly connected but the others are well connected the tray will open by itself and will not remain closed, it happened to me.

you can base yourself on this video if you want, there is a part where he disassembles the drive and removes the tray and shows the mechanism responsible for opening it, remove the tray if you can and see if the motor turns, if it turns but the belt does not move, one of the two, or the belt is loose and needs to be changed, or the gears are stuck, then you need to see what to do, maybe a bad fit or broken, I would have to see what to do.

the reader flashing red is a good sign, it indicates that the reader is alive and that we can confirm that we do not have an LA problem in front of us.

I'm not sure I understood what you wanted me to do, but I disassembled the console and I'm pretty sure the flex cables are properly connected. I've tested two different DVD drives (one from the original unit and one from another 5000X model) and both show the same issue on the same console. Anyways, this is what it does at the moment: as you can see, the motor that should move the white part isn't even trying to move.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was busy yesterday on my 39001 and forgot to reply to you.

Strange, I have no answers for what may be happening, I'm already in doubt about LA because nothing moves. my guess maybe a blown fuse, I believe it's not the LA one as it recognizes the drive, and I have no idea what else could be causing this.
Are the flat cables in good condition? no lumps, ripped things that can compromise? It's repetitive asking, I know, but it's my only ideas at the moment, I don't have a working 50001 to test something:(

PS13 is dead, but from what I could find it's just a 5V regulator. Since I can't find SMD fuses right now, I bridged the connections but it didn't make any difference. Idk what else might be happening. Thanks for the help anyways.
If someone else has any ideas, please let me know.

Hey, your best bet would be to pull a drive from another 5000-series PS2(preferably dead if possible). Second hand shops or pawn dealers(people who take your goods for lending/exchanging cash) can offer these to you at a discounted rate or for free if they're generous enough.

Hi, thanks for commenting. Sadly, I've already tried this. My console is a 50006 and I bought a faulty 50004 just to get the drive out of it and test it. Sadly, I didn't have any luck with it.

The connector where that driver gear board is sitting is fine, I assume. So possibly the ic that went bad. All the other fuses ok (tracking, sled fuse ok?)

Can refer to this to make it easier (and for those looking for solutions)
