Hello from Germany :-)

I am totally new to all this stuff, just got my first PS3 with CFW only a few days ago. Seems like Sony wants to hit ME as they now change so many things so I can't get only anymore :-/

Actually I have Darknet 4.66 CEX installed. There are some tools installed like Cobra Tools, WebMan, MultiMan, PSNPatch, Toggle QA.

Now I would like to play online again, so I need some 4.70 CFW, right?

The ONLY thing I am doing at the moment is playing GTA V online with Mod Menu (and just tried to use CCAPI for the first time). And I always used my original GTA V disc.

So would this nearly-OFW release be perfect for me as I am only using a Mod Menu and playing online from original disc?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I didn't Understand !!!

If Yes

This just a standard OFW with ZERO CFW features except the ability to downgrade back to a CFW without the need of a hardware flasher. This is to mimic a normal firmware to play your disc based games online its to make it safer to play online. You can use this to play online and then install CFW again to play your offline content. It is advised you have two hdd's using this method. One for your CFW and one for your pressed disc and purchased PSN content.

Well i do not care for online mods, so i will not help with that. They do not belong online and RUINS the online experience for all.

No because you are using a mod menu .. THIS ACTS SAME AS OFW.... You need a CFW like Ferrox 4.70 .. but please do not cheat and mod online.
Offline modding I am a fan of but online modding it just does not belong there. We do not help with stuff like that sorry.

Hi people,

I'm new to scene and I need a little help. I've read a lot, heard a lot and now the point is. Is it safer to use this to go online and sync trophies or is it better to run normal CFW 4.70 with SEN Enabler/PSN Patch?

There is no official statistics.. This firmware is for use with Original Discs (Only!) so is theoretically safer. But you can't run your backup on this. And yes for things like sync trophies is safer but only because you don;t forget to turn off homebrew, syscalls, etc. (ok, not only but mainly). Because homebrew just don't run on this FW.

Ok, so the safest way to play normally the backups and at the end sync trophies is to have a normal CFW and play all I want. When I'm done with that, I delete all homebrew and internal games but sen enabler and delete all history files. To finish I delete sen enabler and install this Dual Boot CFW. Now syncing to servers and I can get back to CFW when I want.

What do you think?

I know a lot of players that simply sync trophies on cfw after use psnpatch/sen enabler. But yeah DB firmware sounds safer for that. Anyway idea of DB firmware is to play original games online and allow to back to cfw. Is only difrent from OFW, that you can install back cfw from that.

Thanks a lot, maybe it is a safer way. But my question is why I cant find solid sources/posts about that.

I think that users are too lazy to use safer way, also some people are scary to update firmware (after some posts i know why (disc in drive, net connected, etc)). And if someone using online playing on CFW without ban then if hacks like Rebug enabling trophies are not used is no additional risk in updating trophies. DB is safer but not the only way that sync can be done.

Thanks a lot again. It is always better to ask people that used to this. :hmmm:
