PS2 FHDB - Everything works but Browser 2.0?

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to the PS2 modding community so please bear with me here if I say something that's a bit incorrect.

I just recently bought a PS2 SCPH-50001/N with an official Sony Network adapter and a working 250 GB IDE Hard Drive and was able to successfully mod it using the great AIO guide from here along with the preconfigured RAW from imkira3. So far, everything seems to be working okay except for the first option when I boot up my PS2, which is just getting into the browser to see your memory card and HDD.

I was going to go in there to clean up some space on my memory card for new save games (it is an official Sony 8MB Card), but any time I load up the browser option, it just goes to a black screen and never loads in or does anything. I have to basically restart my PS2 to exit this loop and once restarting, everything still works as intended.

Every other option that I've tried (OPL, HDLGameInstaller, FMCB Configuration, w and uLaunchELF) all work completely fine, both when I try to go into them and exit from them, I can get back to the menus no problem with no black screen error. It is JUST the browser option.

I'm not exactly sure if it is something I did or if it's something that is not supposed to be used after adding games / the mod, so any help or guidance would be greatly suggested, especially when it comes to storage management on your physical memory card since I've just assumed you would use the browser option.

The only working versions off HDD OSD with FHDB are clean official and patched from SUDC4. Maybe that's the problem here?

Here is how to get it (under HDD OSD chapter):

I'll for sure give this a peek and see.

One thing I will note that I forgot to mention is that the browser DID work for a short period of time. It was working a few days ago back when I only had added a few games via HDLLoader. I've added some more since then and that's when I noticed the issue. As far as I know though, the games went over smoothly except for one time when it lost connection while transferring a game.

Sorry to double post, but just wanted to update that getting SUDC4 HDD OSD did not fix it. Still just a perpetual black screen. Odd that it's only the icon labeled browser. Everything else works as intended and perfectly. Just need to find a place to manage my memory card tbh.

If works before and now doesn't it, and also if both NA and HDD are recognized by uLE/wLE, then HDD logic is broken and needs to be format again.

However, if You don't see also Memory Card then it is additional, yet different issue related to OSD Update (FMCB, HDD OSD, FMHB+HDD OSD etc.) like i.e modchip interfering with FMCB/FHDB patches causing such strange behaviour (which is also strange because this should never worked, not just works and stop working one day).

Redoing the FHDB ended up thankfully fixing it. Seems to be working as intended now. Thank you again for the tips and that PDF! It helped put things into perspective for me in terms of how the storage works.
