FMCB 1.9 for OpenTuna

PS2 FMCB 1.9 for OpenTuna 1.1

This package will allow you to launch FreeMCBoot 1.9 series (1.966 or 1.953) by using OpenTuna on any slim/OpenTuna-compatible console. This pretends to be a basic noobie package cause I've included OPL 1.0.0 as well.

No MagicGate MC is required because ELF extracted from KELF is used (BOOT.ELF). Thus, OSDSYS launcher is not needed anymore.

How to install?

  1. Just extract proper package on your USB pendrive (FMCB-1966-OPENTUNA-PACK for non modchipped consoles or FMCB-1953-MODCHIP-OPENTUNA-PACK for mochipped consoles)
  2. Launch wLE/ULE by any means.
  3. Delete any FreeMCBoot related folder and FORTUNA/OPENTUNA folder.
  4. Copy folder contents, BOOT, OPENTUNA, APPS, SYS-CONF folders, and paste them into your MC root.
How to use it?
  1. Launch console's browser
  2. Browse MC containing FreeMCBoot package
  3. Go back
  4. Go back again
  5. FreeMCBoot 1.966/1.953 should be triggered.

All credits for FreeMCBoot 1.9 series go to @sp193.

Can i install this one on mcb1 or it must be installed on mcb0??
Edit : i have modchipped slim ps2 with bios version 2.30 and my mcb0 is full of game saves

I tried this package but doesn't work on my ps2 90004 slim (8C)
I tried to boot straight to dev1 with the modchip and works, but if i browse the memory card doesn't work. tried FMCB 1953 / FMCB 1966, same results...
by the way vanilla opentuna works correctly.
Can someone help me? Thanks.

Somehow futuristic date is being changed, some people has reported same issue. As workaround you can change date of OPENTUNA folder by using this ULE mod. https://www.psx-place.com/resources/wlaunchelf-4-43x_isr.1112/download?version=2043

@alexparrado I'm trying to use this with hwc's launcher that supports mc1. i installed this package on mc1 and hwc on mc0 . it booted succesfully to fmcb but when i try to launch any elf it gives a black screen

okay, i'm new here but like, whenever i try to boot this off of my fat, whenever i click on the mc, it crashes. it works fine on my slim tho.

That's due to the used Exploit-icon not being compatible with FATs (except some SCPH-50k BOOT-ROM 1.90 and SCPH-55k GT)!

That was brave test ;) because in some cases, wrong Fortuna/OpenTuna execution on wrong fw version leading to destroy entire MCFS (which means all memory card contents lost)! @HWNJ

Yup! It happen to me with Fortuna. I haven't ever tried that again with OpenTuna.

Fortuna v1/v2 isn't. OpenTuna, depend of firmware. AFAIR it is for lowest 1.60 (SCPH-30xxx). However, there is not one version compatible with all, but each version for each target fw version.

For fw 2.20 and all older, people using Free McBoot. :P So better find MC with Magic Gate support or buy/assemble SD2PSX, rather than using OpenTuna or FunTuna.

so what you're saying...is that this exploit isn't compatable with FATs?
It IS compatible with almost every PS2, but the exploit-icon is specific to a few BOOT-ROM-Versions and the Slim-Icon is only compatible with Slims and what I listed........

Other BOOT-ROM-Versions need other Exploit-Icons...

OpenTuna, depend of firmware. AFAIR it is for lowest 1.60 (SCPH-30xxx).
Nah,... 1.10 THX to @El_isra AFAIR!

@alexparrado
Can I use the same 128mb memory card which has fmcb 1.9 for open tuna 1.1 on both ps2 fat and slim ?
I used a ps2 slim to to create fmcb 1.9 open tuna card, but this card does not load on a ps2 fat.
The reason I'm asking is because I wanted to use the same 128 mb memory card across both fat and slim ps2 systems.
