a few minutes ago I tried creating a VMC for Gta San andreas and then Bully, after that I decided to restart the ps2 to do something else, but now the FMCB is not loading ,and instead it looks like a normal ps2, and I can go around and create another memory card FMCB since my PS2 has the disc reader broken, which is why I purchased a pre-installed memory card in the first place, anyone knows a potential fix?

I already literally said what I did, created VMCs for GTA and Bully, then restarted the ps2, that's it

By plenty of ways, eg by making image from real mc by Memory Card Annihilator. It is not my fault that You not know how...
Anyway, if card is recognized as empty it means MCFS became corrupt (which means needs to be format again) and/or You've got bad blocks (let's say card broken). Either way, You already lost FMCB install.
It is coincidence that Your card was nuked, this is not related to making vmc.

I have sent the memory card to reinstall, FMCB was succesfully reinstalled, HOWEVER, turns out the memory card has bad sectors, I am in the process of aquiring a new one to install FMCB there, however it could take a while, I even had to sacrifice SMS in order to be able to update the latest OPL, because all the free espace I had left from a 8MB card was 900kb, no savegames, all fmcb stuff, weird I know.
My question now is, what steps should I take to make sure the contents of the memory card are well protected until I get another one?, I am testing a new VMC on my HDD right now, hopefully it works, that way I dont risk the actual FMCB

About size: FMCB 1.966 with USB module, config and uLE, takes ~1.5MiB. So Your fs on memory card must be broken already or bloated by many applications if You see only ~900KiB left.

I meant external HDD , as in USB port, you see the reason why I only have 900kb is because the memory card has bad sectors, it's corrupted, that's why I have been taking emergency measures such as only using saving games on VMCs and not messing with the settings of anything really except if really needed, to avoid any kind of writing inside the Memory Card itself

Some like MGS2 or MGS3(?) can corrupt the physical MemoryCard's Filesystem.
Anyway... Berion is correct, when he states that it was not the cause for the corruption, as those 2 games do not have/cause that issue.
