thats right, now you can actually format you external hdd via ps4 console and no more errors.
this requires hen 1.7 (note once games installed via 1.7, then 1.7 needs to be ran every time loading from external).
i can confirm it working, running 5.05 with Hen 1.7 4tb external, no issues yet.
below are a couple of playgrounds hosting 1.7, there is a esp version as well
