PS4 FPGA based PS4 HDMI IC "emulator" ?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering : Does anyone, somewhere, work on (or is thinking of creating) a fpga based PS4 HDMI IC (MN864729 and MN86471A) "emulator" ?

It could be super useful to diagnose a faulty hdmi ic (in case of WLOD), and also when the ic will not be available to purchase anymore. I know there is people reverse engineering silicon, and people "translating" the silicon pictures into programs, so technically I think it can happen.

It could also allow an easier replacement, with the use of "flexible pcb"-like flat cable (or quick solder board), instead of a QFN chip, which could be soldered with a soldering iron only.

I wish I could do it myself but I'm far from having this kind of skills ^_^'

It's just not worth the time or hassle for someone to do, especially when you can buy an original MN864729 for £12 + P&P from a reputable UK seller.

FPGA is expensive, time consuming, needs to be programmed at each power on cycle (of the FPGA, not console) would require a custom interposer to mate between the console PCB and the FPGA, power management IC's, etc, etc. All adds to the cost and complexity and all makes it not worth it.
