but... if some of you have some repair services you are fine in mentioning it in your user profile or signature, note there are a couple of places in your user settings where a mention to your repair services could fit well
Incase you decide to mention it in your signature it needs to be small, dont abuse of it

Is a bit tricky to make strict rules about this, the point is having some people doing repairs is something positive for the community... but we dont want this to become a fishing pool for spammers trying to make clients

Sorry I'm not on this forum too often.

I never had a TG16/PCE either until recently. I strongly suggest getting the PC Engine Duo, doing a recap, new voltage regulators, Voultar's RGB mod, and Game-Tech region switch.

The PC Engine Duo costs less than the TurboGrafx Duo. It includes the Super CD expansion built in so you don't need the expensive and rare HuCard. CD-ROM games are all region free. HuCards are not, but you can either get a Turbo PC-Henshin Mod-less Region Converter (expensive), or the Game-Tech region switch. Or get an Everdrive (best option if you're not into collecting originals).

What I like about it is it feels like the 8 bit era perfected. NES on steroids. The 16 bit era with Genesis and SNES is awesome, but also feels quite a bit different than the 8 bit era. TG16/PCE has plenty of awesome shmups, beat em ups, and of course the Bonk games and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (which is getting a translated Limited Release run soon).
 
Hmm...sound neat. I do like having OG hw, but for less nostalgic consoles I dont mind FPGA. I have been meaning to get a MiSTer for some time and I think they have a PCE core, so I'll probably go that route. If I really like it I may add a real console to my setup.

The MiSTer FPGA is on my list! I'll build one soon. Maybe for a CRT arcade cabinet!

Yep, never intended to offer my services whatsoever, but had to ask (by dm) if @ad-min could sell me some of her/his chips for my consoles, since buying from indonesia is a pain in the ass.

For the record, It was you who misunderstood us.
These are general PSAs, prompted by your interaction with @ad-min but not directed at you specifically. You are correct, we did not know what you PM'd. But we never publicly assumed either. So you don't need to justify your actions.

But you can see how context made it looked like you were answering his solicitation for services, yes? I didn't know the contents of your PM and didn't want to publicly assume. I think given that context I restrained myself admirably.
 
I think I found someone who is willing to take on this challenge. Anyway, sorry for derailing this thread.

Will keep you updated whether or not we can get this mod to work.

I've had a total of 10 CECHA00/A01 units in the last few years. Sold 6 and still have 4.

One of them is a Sony refurb as it came with a sheet in Japanese that shows it was repaired by Sony in 2013.

I've had this unit for a few years now and never understood why it's the most cool and quiet launch PS3 I've ever had.

After reading some of this thread I now know it has a 40nm RSX :encouragement:

hello theres something i need to report and let @botakompong know. it appears that my cecha00 has hit or miss regarding ps2 backwards play. after i took it fixed with frankenstein mod i just test some ps2 games and all play. but that was a testing. i was playing mostly ps3 games. and now im back to some ps2 gaming. i found that the console can start play ps2 sofware in a row of tryes but also fail to boot them in a row of tryes.when failed it simply stays black screen with no audio. that leaves 2 options turn it off by touching the power, or touch the power for 2 seconds and the boot logo sound can be heard then i can blindly return to xmb. now is there a plan from your end to fix this issue? on all cok-001 boards; with lets just say an update file that an end user can use to flash the orbis chip?

Probably not the modchip issue. Can you show the log from the link I sent you?
 
ok guys i need to take back the blame on orbit mod. the issue come because of a stupid fan setting in @Evilnat cfw i tag him so he can see it. so for start this cfw has those fan setings
1 a dynamic fan control
2 a manual mod
3 a dedicated ps2 fan mode.
my previous settings that give ps2 issues was dynamic fan controls to 60 max degrece and ps2 to 40% speed. @DeadEnd ask me to provide him a syscon log. it has 2031 errors. he told me to swap hdd and try different cfw. but istead i play with settings. so after i set the fans to manual 40% and ps2 to 40% the issues goes away 10 tryes 10 success. well what a bummer.

Strange, fan setting shouldn't be causing glods. Seems like it's a safer option to install Rebug or Evilnat 4.87. Evilnat's 4.88 fan options are terrible. Also do not install webmanmod v1.47.36. It has a bug where the fan setting for ps2 won't activate on BC consoles when you play them from discs. Only 1.47.35 and under will work.

yes it is strange and it was a lucky shot that i found about them. i also have another 10 successfull tryes by leaving manual fan 40% and ps2 fan 40%. also another thing i observe on my previous settings. by having the fan on dynamic max 60 degrece the fan from 50% goes to 33% in 1 minute and thats normal. when ps2 software is launched the fan need to change speed to 40% because that is selected. could that confuse things and the console glod also that 2031 is about a temprature sensore could be related

What happens when you try it with the default SYSCON fan settings?

ive done any possible test regarding ps2 glod and all come from the following @Evilnat fan control bug
ps3 at manual 40% ps2 fan to syscon 10/10 success
ps3 at dynamic fan settings max 60c ps2 syscon 8 success 2 fails. also ive notice something on those 2 fails the fan syscon setting didnt activated successfull. the fan is acting as if still 60c max, even when unblock it by holding power touch switch the sounds play screen is black and fan is not switched to syscon controls
