PS2 FreeMCboot not working after replacing OPNPS2LD.elf

So I read that to update OPL all you have to do is replace the OPNPS2LD.elf so I replaced it with the newest 1.2.0 beta and then loaded it from the file browser, then I played MK Deception and created a save to the memory card, and now Freemcboot does not load up at all, and it also says it can't read the dvd I used to originally install. Did I ruin my softmod?

Ok I got the disc to read, but still not sure how to get it to start up automatically after going to the memory card in browser and get the latest openps2loader.

Using funtuna on 75001 btw.

This is very confusing, I reinstalled by pasting the funtuna PSU and freemcboot started up after went in the memory card menu, then I pasted the openps2ld.elf with a different file name, and it stopped loading freemcboot again without even replacing the file. What the hell is going on?

Let me guess, you're using a -Tuna exploit with an incorrect date, right?

The you forgot to follow the instructions: After doing any modifications on the BOOT folder, you must fix the date again.
After pasting anything inside BOOT, go to the Free McBoot Configurator, select "Save CNF to MC0". Now the FunTuna timestamp in the new Memory Card is set to 2099-12-31 23:59:59, the highest available on the PS2. If you changed your PS2's date for some reason, you can now set it back to the real actual date.
