PS3 FTP transfer: target file already exists?

Hello, I'm in the process of installing my PS3 Games onto my ps3 hard drive and then transferring them to a external hard drive via FTP, but I keep getting this error/message for a handful of games. "Target file already extists" and then given the options to overwrite or skip. Should I just overwrite the file? They say they are the same file but I have seen some debate online that they are not and that I need to try re-transferring my game which I have to middling results. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Well, it depends on what are you transfering, and to which folder. You shouldn't recieve any prompt for overwriting files.

In any case, you must check if the dates and sizes are the same before proceeding to skip or overwrite the conflicting files.

Okay, based on you response I can gather this is unusual behavior and something is going wrong. I'm going to look into just connecting the ps3 right into my pc and cut out the router and miles of wire and see if that helps. But I do find it odd that it seems to only be a problem with certain games and only with mp3 files.

So, after setting up a direct connection to the ps3 to pc there has been...no improvement. I switched over from filezilla to WinSCP which allows me to choose "retry" as oppose to overwrite and skip which if I click a half a dozen times, allows me to proceed. Is this a problem with multiman? Should I be using another program on my ps3 to transfer games via ftp?
