PS3 Game Reccommendations

I'm recently going through the ratchet and clank series upto deadlocked/Gladiator and looking for some more games that people reccommend?

Notes - Already got the Jak games ready to go and Infamous series of games to, never been a fan of the god of war games so not really interested in them, lollipop chainsaw is waiting for me to try to.

Go to genres - Shooter, racing, action, adventure hack & slash

Hack & slash - Heavenly Sword

Action & Adventure - The Last of Us (everybody's favorite & arguably the best game ever made), Uncharted 2 & 3 (great games by Naughty Dogs), I am Alive (requires a lot of patience but one my personal favorite)

Racing - Gran Tourismo

FPS shooters - Far cry series. Crysis series

I think there are not many great platforms on PS3 but you can try Rayman series, Mickey mouse castle of illusion.

If you like ratchet and clank you should really play "a crack in time", in my oppinion is the best ratchet game published for PS3. And "tools of destruction" is the second best
The prince of persia "the sands of time" is a bit platforms and hack and slash too, and even the assassin's creed (1, 4, revelations)

And i would say the batman games, some of them was re-released as the goty edition. Castlevania lord of shadows, Hunted the demon's forge. Darksiders. Dante's inferno. Kingdoms of amalur. Dragon's dogma, and even Diablo 3

For racing, burnout paradise, test drive unlimited 2, driver san francisco... i like that they allows to free drive in a open world

Edit:
Ohhh, i almost forgot, the dark souls series (and specially demon's souls) are epic, but i guess they are on his own genre of "extreme hardcore" difficulty levels lol

Heavenly Sword - looks like a good reccommendation thank you :)

Last Of Us, Uncharted series - Finished them not to long ago.

Gran Tourismo - Never been a fan of it I'm afraid.

Fary Cry, Crysis, Rayman - Finished them on pc and can still remember the story so will have to wait a bit.

Mickey Mouse - Will give it a look but never been 100% on those kinda games.

Ratchet & Clank - Don't worry its on my list really not liking deadlocked/Gladiator no clue what they did to it just doesn't feel right.

Prince Of Persia - Beautiful game series played it not to long ago

Assassin's Creed - Played them on PC so kinda fresh in my mind except revelations might have to give that a whack.

Batman - PCed them again good games, paid like £4 for the arkham knight with all the dlcs shame really since that game launched like a brick in water but they patched it a lot to make it really playable.

Castlevania,Dantes Inferno, Kingdoms of amalur,Dragon's dogma - Going to give those a try and see how they are.

Darksiders - Played those recently so kinda out again.

Diablo 3 - PCed it

Burnout, testdrive unlimited, driver san fran - You managed to listed 3 racing games I finished on PC not to long back as well as most of the need for speeds except hot pursuit going to give that a whack since the remake has just removed cars and added colour choices.

Dark souls - the inventor of many a swear word thinking looking at my games I would like it but never really been my kind of game.

Thank you for the recommendations keep them coming :D

  1. Red Dead Redemption + Undead Nightmare
  2. Catherine
  3. Tomb Raider
  4. Final Fantasy 13
  5. Bioshock 1,2 &3
  6. Borderlands 1 & 2
  7. Mass Effect 1,2 & 3
  8. Child of Light
  9. Metal Gear Solid 4 & 5
  10. Dragon Dogma - Dark Arisen
  11. Persona 5
  12. Dead Space

Racing:
-Need For Speed Pro Street (I think it's one of the most entertaining NFS games as it is the perfect blend of street and track racing IMO)
-Dirt 3
-Dirt Showdown
I listed these two Dirt games because of their arcadey gameplay and focus on more fun disciplines (rather than the full-on rally style of other Dirt titles)

Shooter:
- Fallout 3 or NV (also RPGs but well, they're an FPS too. Pretty long campaign with lots of side quests but pretty entertaining when exploring the world and investigating the lore of the whole series)

Hack & Slash:
-Dante's Inferno (the only H&S game I've ever finished. Liked a lot the story as it's based on the Divine Comedy and it gives a bit of "realism" as it's connected to a real life piece of art. I guess I liked that because I've read it, maybe to someone that didn't that connection doesn't exist)
-Lollipop Chainsaw (pretty fun game as it's pretty bizarre, you already have it on the list so there's not much that I can add to take into consideration)

Couch multiplayer:
-Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (basically Rocket League for the PS3. Made by the same dev team)
-TNT Racers (4 player, top-down view, car racing with power-ups based on a score system)
-Blur (I'd describe it as Mario Kart for car people. Real cars, slightly more violent power-ups and fast paced racing)

I'll edit in more games if I remember more.

Need for speed - Think I mentioned it in the early post but I recently went through and finished all the need for speed games back in july good series of games but my god did it go down hill (Looking at you bloom undercover), prostreet and shift where some of my favourites and carbon (Don't get why people hated it so much it wasn't to bad all round compared to some of them).

Dirt - I have finished dirt 3 complete edition and showdown more times than I dare to mention good racing games.

Fallout 3,NV - I always liked 3 more than NV not sure why just felt nicer to me.

Dante's Inferno - Already on my shopping list seems a few people have recommended it.

Lollipop Chainsaw - I have owned the game on disk longer than I have owned the console due to buying it when it came out not having my ps3 due to selling it but keeping the game then getting my new old phat ps3 which I'm keeping till the PS4 CFW space explodes with the 5 coming out hopefully soon :D

SARPBC - That tune is still stuck in my head it was an amazing came compared to what rocket shop has become.

TNT - Added to the list looks interesting will give it a go.

Blur - Thank you the name of that game has been annoying me for ages definatly going on my shopping list.

Thank you for your suggestions :D

@Combatxlemming TNT Racers has a demo version on PSN, you could try that and if you like it and feel like playing more maps and cars you could buy the full version.
The demo version allows local 4 player races so you can try it fully in order to decide

I'm wanting to build up a game collection so if I like it or not I can still play it in the future, never know peoples tastes cchanges :)

The way of the samurai 4

Played that on steam not to long ago good game but the ps3 version probably plays better.

Haha, i thought the same. Everything we suggest, he played it already. :biggrin2:

Here is something different which i liked very much.
  • Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
I was trying to catch him when i suggeted the way of the samurai 4, this game is not much popular and is a bit weird... but he played it too :D

When this thread started it was looking like someone not much used to PS3 game library asking for some popular games, but now it looks like is someone that played a lot of games and is searching for some "rare" ones he missed :D

Btw, i guess you played the dead space series ?, i think all them was published in PS3 so you could play them consecutivelly, 1--->2--->3

Pretty cool survival-horror shooters... i just played the first one (and loved it), and another named "dead space extraction" (that is a on-rails shooter for the PSmove controller)
