Hey,

Recently i install cfw evilnat cobra 4.88.2 on a ps3 fat and everything works great, except the fact that i can't load a save from demon souls.
I can see the saved data but every time i start the game it is asking me to start a new profile instead of load the old one. Ofw was 4.88.

Any advice cause i don't want to lose my progress?

Thanks in advance!

As far i remember... in demon's souls character editor your character is given a name automatically (the same you used in your PS3 user offline account)
Do you remember if your user name in the account where was created the save is the same than the actual account where you are trying to "import" it ?

Try to convert it with apollo anyway... is not going to change the character name i mentioned but is going to "fix" any other problem

I'm so dumm :/ You are correct, i was trying to run the game from another account... that's why it didn't work.
Thank you for your help :)

The interesting detail of the story is this "feature" of demons souls (using your user profile nick automatically when you create the character) is like an additional protection linking the save to the user nick
It was not intended to be a protection but in the practise it is :D

You know... the PS3 firmware uses his own methods to link the save to the user (by the ACCOUNT_ID inside the PARAM.SFO file), but this is something added by the game developers
Lets say... if i create an user in XMB named "sandungas" and i create a save in other game the save doesnt have the word "sandungas" anywhere... but demons souls have it <facepalm here> and is made automatically (not a custom name)
Probably there are other games that does it but is not usual at all, is the only game i know that does this

-----------
Btw, probably there is a way to change the nick in the save... but it needs to be searched in the "raw" save file (after all decryption layers has been removed), so the process would be something like:
1) decrypt everything
2) find the nick and replace it
3) encrypt everything

Apollo have some tricks specific for some games, maybe @bucanero is interested in implementing something in apollo related with it, otherway it needs to be made manually in PC

haha i certainly won't call that a good future and i'm not ever sure why they did it that way. Anyway i can live with the existing nickname rather than trying to change it (but everyone is more than welcome to explain the procedure on how to do it).

Thanks also for sharing info on how ps3 link saves, i didn't knew and its very usefull :)
