Hi all!

I followed the guide posted by mr mario and modded warfare and I was finally able to put a CFW on my fat ps3. It's been going great but lately my games that I have put on my FAT32 USB-stick crashes at random. The games are in a JB format (folder) and I put them in a folder named "GAMES" on the root of my usb.

I've been able to play around 4 games without any issues except maybe one or two crashes that I could live with. Recently, I have tried around 6 or 7 games and it behaves quite weirdly. All games are recognized by multiman and I can load them all up just fine and I am able to get into the game menu.

Some games I am able to play maybe half of a level and all the sudden, I get no more "hints", as in I can move around freely but the game do not progress. It is like I am stuck in a weird limbo and I need to exit the game and enter again to move further. Other games only let me get start a game before getting stuck on the loading menu or a black screen. I can exit the games by pressing the PS-logo on my controller so it's not the ps3 in itself that crashes. Some games crashes and takes me back to the XMB menu.

I have tried using different fan settings through multiman but I am getting the same results. The ps3 is around 65 degree celsius when idle and around 65-73 when I am playing the games.

Am I just unlucky with the backups that I have? I can play the games just fine if I am using a disk.

UPDATE:

I was able to transfer one game to my internal hard drive and the game that previously crashed on my USB is now working quite alright except freezing for a short bit from time to time during loading but nothing that really bothers me. Now I need to figure out what went wrong with my USB stick..

Some hdds enters in standby automatically atfter some minutes if there is no hdd access request, and some backup managers have an option named "USB wakeup" that generates a request every x minutes to keep them alive

Is either that... or you have that USB hdd very fragmented... or a power problem related with the PSU
