PS3 Getting OtherOS Back

Hello,

I'd like to install Linux on my PS3. My goal is to access the PS3 Architecture (PPE, SPE). I'll clone my current drive and try to dump 4.11 before starting. I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to point me in the right direction:

Correct route (Follow X,Y,Z) to get from current F/W 4.11 to 3.15 (Or whichever gives OtherOS)

PS since doing this my ps3 CPU fan/speed going crazy, though after reboot now it seems quiet.

PPS after being idle in gameos, CPU fan/speed goes crazy - no idea what its doing.

For what reason You have changed CEX fw to converted DEX? You don't need that to use OtherOS, official way or unofficial way. Now You must stick to DEX fw until You not install Rebug or Evilnat CFW and change TID in IDPS.

If You set QA flag, You will be able to install any fw version over any fw version.

Last official fw with OOS is 3.16. OOS+ van be use on some ancient CFWs, Rebug and Evilnat.

I was taking things slowly and patiently, until I got to the jailbreak part. Then I just speedran it and might have just downloaded the .PUP files from that PS3LINUX blonde dude. I didn't really want to be DEX either. I guess if you can say what I did wrong and how to undo it I'll fix it and anyone who stumbles on this thread will be helped.

Linux kernel won't be affected by DEX? If I am on 3.15 and using OtherOS. I'm working on booting from USB atm. Cheers.

If You already have installed OFW and Linux, it have not much sense for You now, but in future: install 4.84.1 Rebug D-Rex (because You are now on DEX fw, so You cannot install CEX fw), again change TID for CEX as You did earlier and install Rebug 4.84.1 Rex. In Rebug Toolbox turn set QA flag, install Rebug 3.55.4 and install any older OFW i.e 3.15. For unknown reason, You cannot install lower fw directly from newer than 3.55 so that's why 3.55 CFW is in the middle of way. However, You don't need 3.15, OOS can be used on latest fw e.g Evilnat 4.90, just setup is not as handy as official way.

If booting to so called GameOS will not work for You (never worked for me for unknown reason) You can reset boot flag going to recovery mode and choosing restore default settings option. If still Petitboot be booting, like instead recovery will boot Petitboot (happens on OOS+ environments).
