PS3 Getting ready to mod my Fat CECHG01 with 4.81 OFW what now?

So I've been doing some of digging and reading(with the little free time I have), but since I'm a total n00b to modding PS3 I'm seeking input from those out there with more knowledge than me on what CFW would be best to use. My PS3 that I've had forever is a CECHG01. I'm leaning towards Rebug 4.82.2 REX or would a later revision be better? what your thoughts?

I'm also a little confused on the install, but from what I've read If I was, say rebug 4.82.2 REX, I first need to have 4.82 OFW installed....is this correct?

If your console is currently on OFW, you must jailbreak first. You can use the PS3 Toolset for that.

If you wish to use a Rebug REX CFW, you should go for Rebug REX 4.84.2.
You can install it directly over OFW 4.81 once the console is jailbroken.

I've already taken some of the preliminary steps using bgtoolset to backup my flash memory and i used PyPS3checker and the dump wqs good no warnings and no errors. I'm following Mr Mario's guide and it is, so far, running without any hiccups.

Stage2 is the main cobra file, it's commonly called stage2.bin, it is located in/dev_flash and it can potentially be swapped with a newer updated version.
