PS3 Graphite thermal pad?

Hi,
I was wondering would it be a good idea to put graphites thermal pad on the ps3 instead of paste ?
On paper a thermal material that last a lot longer seems like a good idea but has anyone tried it yet ?

its a good idea, but very expensive. ps3 heatspreaders are about 4cm x 4cm for cpu, and rsx is a bit bigger 4,25cm x 4,25cm. PTM pads are cheaper.

ptm and carbon pads, they will last longer and will not pump out compared to thermal paste. Carbon pads will not dry out compared to PTM.
its a good long term investment if consider carbon pads.

Thanks for the reply I found this one it doesn't seem to be that bad

It's 90x 115 mm should be enouth for cpus and gpus? (I have a cecha)

I'm just not sure if it will make proper contact

I found this for ptm the big sheet seems to be a good deal on paper if it last longer

go for panasonic, 90mm by 110mm, it will cover. grizzly carbon pads are 0.2mm in thickness, panasonic is 0.07 and 0.025, thinner than sheet of paper.

After doing more reserach I found that this one seems to be a better thermal sheet (for our application)

(I can't post link for some reason)

I don't think it's a good idea, especially for very thin ones. You'll find that the contact surface between the heat sink and the IHS on many PS3s is not very flat.
