Some recent interest in PS3ism due to my son bringing his to me after my ps2 gave up the ghost. He mainly wanted me to have access to a console as both of my sons prefer and have consoles (many flavors), and have zero interest in pc gaming. I on the other hand prefer PC's, but also love consoles of every variety. (albeit I'm not super familiar with many of them now a days I'm no less intrigued)
Oh yeah, moving on (try to keep it short) I happened upon PSX PLACE searching for possible ways to escape one of Sony's more successful dick moves (clueless at the time, but one, once functioning, now looping latest update PS3 slim, buggin me to get skills and be a BALLA son! Yeah so, she's bricked until the WiFi/Bluetooth module is replaced (pretty hefty price for mistakenly trusting Sony to simply install their latest update or possibly offer up a couple more options other than "NO SOUP FOR YOU!" "..but it's just a wireless module, I don't even use i..." "AAHHT TUT TUT TUT!! shush "but" "NEHHHCH!!.. shhhhhhhhh.......... no.. wifi... no.. !!!PLAYSTATION!!!.. now.. out.. "..a..rollback..maybe..? cmon...?" "..................hm yeah no !!!GET OUT!!!
Aaaanyway..with that I i started spending lots of time here getn edjumucated, and over there ya know, watching lots of videos, and have since bought up a couple of PS3 FAT BOYS and a couple parts here and there and managed to refirb one adding a bigger drive, little more ventilation, and a custom wrap with some old caution tape I had laying around to hide the scratches, left the firmware stock and gave it to my son to replace the one I broke, along with an open anytime offer to upgrade to CFW when\if he's ready to let me experiment with his sht and brick it too
