PS3 Hacking & Jailbreaking the PS3

Hey thanks for your reply. I know I have done all of that right. My issue is when I download the CFW file off of any website and it YouTube links ... My Winrar won't extract the file to let me be able to put it on my flash drive. Basically I tired to install the CFW the same I did the Flash.Hex file and Winrar says the format is unknown or damaged any idea why? Are the new CFW 4.82 non working links now?

Also make sure your PUP is the same or higher version than the version you already have installed, unless you are on CFW and QA flagged, if you are Qa flagged then you can downgrade from the XMB too.

When I download the CFW Ferrox 4.82 it downloads perfectly but when I try to unzip the file Winrar says the file is either unknown or damaged ... is that common? Because when I put the flash drive in my Ps3 the update file doesn't show up! I labeled each folder exactly the way I was supposed to everything checked out with the mini checker and I already Flash.hex my firmware to OFW 4.82 I'm lost now

I don't know tbh, Maybe your download is corrupt. Try another CFW download like Rebug 4.82, you just put the PUP on your USB drive, its a simple file copy.

The icon does not matter, it depends on OS and what app you have set to open PUPs, if its a PUP file it will work as is. If its still a zip or rar then extract it first. Or just download a PUP file from somewhere else.

Where are you getting your FW?

I got them from psx exploits and a dozen of other websites ... I'm starting to think something went wrong with the jailbreak part but everything went smoothly my computer beep and turned off both times perfectly how do I know if the flash.hex part of the jailbreak worked. What Should my firmware read before I install CFW ... I also downloaded the one you just sent me same thing happens IDK!

You should be on 4.82 OFW to start with. If you read the xploit thread it will explain how you can find out how to dump and check it to see if tis patched correctly. you dump from the Xploit webpage, then check it on pc.

Are all 2503A models jailbreakable because I have a comitted buy on ebay it says it is jailbreakable. I told the seller to do minver check because I already have to do one return. - _ - he said he would let me know the date code. Honestly I got a lil worried cuz he said all cech 2000 models are jailbreakable but it is a 2500 model lol. Some are. :/ Scary shit at this rate the hair on the sides of my head will fall off too! He said dont worry he would let me know... I hope he does.I hope it's jailbreakable.

So. I'm kinda extra new as in I just learned about all this and tried it an hour or two ago.
This may or may not be tripping at the finish line, but I just finished the NOR Flash patch step. And it says "You can dump the NOR now..." And I just want to know specifcally what that means/entails. Is there an extra step I need to follow before putting the CFW of choice in or does that mean I don't have to worry about the dump files and can just...dump...them?

If so it sounds like you are at step 6
"On success, load the **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) flash dumper, dump the flash memory & validate it with py checker tool. Do NOT restart the console if ever the validation tool gives you errors/warnings on both ros0 & ros1 or you risk to partially brick your console. Report your problem instead".
