PS3 Hacking & Jailbreaking the PS3

so im on 4.84.2 dex with ccap and i downloaded ps3 4k pro and nothing would load i know i should of red some more so i i restored the ps3 still got the ccapi but no mmcm and im getting errors on the usb and a hard reboot error so idk what to do now

PS3 4k pro has big and serious problems and it may break your console. I was thinking about installing on my PS3 but the comments on PSX-PLACE and on YouTube they saved me!!

Firstly, I am VERY out of date with PS3 Hacking..

I have a 500GB PS3 Phat which I use with ps3netsrv and it is still working great but my Dauighter would like one for herself now :) So I am in the market to buy one for her to run multiman (or similar) but must have the ability to play PS2 Games (Buzz Jungle Party) :adoration:

Am I restricted to making sure it is a Phat model or can the slim/superslim work?

only first two ps3 fats will play all ps2 discs (maybe 2 or 3 dont work) and use usb devices and iso. the models numbers cech-a and cech-b.

the next two play most discs. they can not use usb with ps2 games but can use iso. they are cech-c and cech-e.

all other ps3s can play some ps2 games but you must rip the disc to iso. if your ps3 can only use hen, you will have to convert it to pkg and install it. you may need config files for some games on these ps3s. here is a compatability list.

The PS3 for my Daughter I was thinking of just upgrading the internal disk as she will only want a few games but unfortunately and typically) Buzz Jungle Party is not in that compatibility list and the decision on which PS3 to buy hinges on that one game!

When you say cech-a ,b ,c etc is that cech-(any number) then the last letter is the important bit? I ask as I have found slims as CECH-3003B so trying to understand that part.

yes the last letter is the important part. there will be a few numbers after the letter but they are not important.

the cech-3000 models have to use hen (no cfw) and can only play ps2 games from the compatability list.

yes but you have to run the iso through a program on pc to generate "correct" ps3disc iso before burning for disc to be recognised by ps3. mamba 8.3 added feature to play "incorrect" disc that is not burned properly (as long as it has PS3_GAME folder in root directory)

it was mamba not webman.

ah mates shes dead ive wiped the hdd try reinstallign ofw cfw usb ports wont accept update so yh for future references DONT USE PS3 4K PRO ON A DEX SYSTEM
