What's the best option for a 2503 with 0c on 4.88 ? Should i use the flash writer on 4.88 ? I read that 4.89 and 4.90 have some factory error in the offsets , is that corrected in a CFW but not on HEN ?

0C as in the date code? It should be CFW-compatible then, but better check with Minverchk, before attempting to proceed, unless you're already on CFW.
If you're already on CFW (e.g., Evilnat 4.88) do not use the flash writer tool. You do not need to jailbreak again just to update a CFW version. Just install the new CFW as you would install any other update. If it doesn't work for some reason, install from recovery.
If you're on OFW then indeed you need to use the flash writer. The current version works only on HFW 4.90.1, it will not work on any other firmware. Just install HFW 4.90.1 (which can be installed directly on OFW 4.88, no need to go through OFW 4.90) and then use flash writer to install CFW.
After you're on CFW, if you're not satisfied with 4.90 you can downgrade by setting the QA flag, but so far I haven't seen a reason to do so. Evilnat's 4.90 firmware is great and has all the features Rebug had.

Looking for someone who's successfully installed gex firmware on a retail ps3 looking to get a 357b pc back online need a little info on what this firmware is compatible with and the steps I need to take if someone could help that would be amazing I was suggested this site from ps3 page on Facebook

After using several hdds to continue testing with the guru tools and formatting in fat 32, something very curious has happened.
When connecting the hdd to the console again, instead of asking to format and update, it has rebuilt the database by itself and now I have an off that allows me to launch multiman and xmb games but from within multiman, it asks me for the tool charges in cfw or usb(?) to launch internals.
In system information 4.90 in multiman 0.00
It doesn't require any tools to launch unsigned apps that are on xmb and it doesn't have the package installer anywhere except in the network settings (Edy, debug settings, install packages (d'ont work).
I have already advanced that despite using the evilnat or Bugerville tools correctly, it always results in damaged data.
Tested on two other consoles slim and fat, 0 problems.
Help me, please.

Hello,

To the developer brothers,

It is an honor to write to you and to benefit from your valuable information. I want a way to decompress the RAPS files that are inside the exdata folder. I mean, I want a program that can decompress the RAP file so that it becomes in the form of files, as in the method of decompressing the PKG file using a program PS3GameExtractor, PKG ContentID, or PkgView When you use a program to decompress PKG files, it produces a PKG folder for you, for example: NPEB.., I want the same way, how can I decompress the RAP file and have a folder (as in the method Decompress the PKG file).

* My PlayStation 3 type:

* My device is SLIM, custom EVILNAT 4.90, CEX system, hack type: CFW, Firmware update 4.76 (which you can find out through the Rebug Toolbox).
My device accepts HEN and CFW hacks, while the HAN TOOLBOX feature only works on SUPER SLIM devices.

Waiting for reply,,,

Please accept my expressions of utmost respect and appreciation,,,

my regards,,,

rap file is not compressed. there are no files inside it. all rap files are 16 bytes. lt is like a "key" or "passcode". the rap is used for license verfication.

you can convert from rap to rif (or back), but nothing else that i know of.

Unfortunately your message appears as though it has been machine-translated (e.g. Google Translate etc.). I've tried reading it multiple times and unfortunately at least to me it's incomprehensible. That might be the case with others as well, which would explain why you haven't received an answer.
I'm terribly sorry but you will might need to find someone to translate for you.

Hello people. I have a doubt. A week ago I installed the latest hybrid firmware and then the latest hen version which was 3.2.2 if I'm not mistaken. The thing is that I did all of this with my controller connected with cable because it would just not connect via bluetooth. it had been a long time since I used the ps3, so I guessed that the joysticks were just really uncharged and continued with the process. All was fine, I installed hen and the game I wanted to play, but eventually realized that it was not a problem of charging. Both of my controllers were fully charged and still would not be recognized by my ps3. I tried resetting them by sticking a little toothpick in the small hole they have, but it did not work. I gave up and just resigned myself to play with the controller connected. Here comes the bad thing: some minutes ago I went back to ofw (I had my reasons) but, while updating to the software, the error 8002f1f9 popped. I, confused, restarted the PS3 and this time it updated fine. Did what I wanted to do on ofw and decided to go back to hfw... but this time it was impossible. the error popped up many times. Investigated more about it and understood that the fact that my controllers were not connecting was related to this mistake I was getting. Basically my wifi module must be broken or something. Getting the ps3 fixed by some technician would cost me more money than the ammount i can allow myself to spend, so this might be the last time i play to the refurbished ps3 i got for my two-years ago birthday :/, but before i go through the process of wanting to die, and, eventually, accepting and living with that, i really want to try everything possible to fix it. You see, as I said, after the error popped for the first time i was able to magically install the update at the next attempt when i was trying to go back to ofw, and some day of the past week my joystick suddenly connected via bluetooth. It did not last long until i had to connect it by cable again, but because of these two things i think that my bluetooth module it is not fully broken. Two questions:

Is there a way to momentarily fix this? I do not care playing with the controller connected. Maybe pressing somewhere in the ps3 will momentarily make the module work for the update to install?

And two: is it possible for hen or hfw to unable the wifi module of the ps3, or that is completly impossible?

Hope i get a response. Thanks for reading up to here if you did.

I have a ps3 super slim

You have broken WiFi/BT card and need to replace it. Sony added such time bomb so no fw is possible to install until You fix it.

Open console and look how is the situation, random disconnecting is rather strange.

It is not possible to fix it or bypass this by software alone. CFW users can install CFW with no BD patches but You are out of luck with CECH-4xxx.

Hi. I wanted to say that i was able to install hfw by pressing hard the back part of the ps3 super slim i have. Of course i know this is not solving the problem, but, as i said, i really do not have the money at this moment to repair it the way it should be done so im really happy for this arcaic method to have worked. I guess that my wifi/bluetooth board is not broken, its just loose? I still cannot use joystick wireless and have to connect it via usb, but i don really mind that

Well, that's good news. At least you can use your console.

One question, have you tried connecting your controllers while pressing on the BT/WiFI board?. Maybe it's just a connection issue and the board is fully functional.

Yes and the controller did connect for a while, but sooner than later it disconnected. If this really is a connection issue, what would that change? I would still have to change the bt board to fix this matter, right?

Not actually, you would need to do a reflow or reball of the board and that's it. It's a fairly simple process, way more doable than reballing the RSX or the CELL.

But your board is good, it just has some connection issues.
