Hello, I signed up to this forum just to get help with this.

I am attempting to play ps2 games called Buzz! "Name of the game". Heres a picture of one of the games

These games use controllers that look like this.

I am attempting to play these games on my ps3 using multiman and running the iso's off of the HDD. I can start the game but when it starts it just says Buzz! controllers cannot be found even though they are plugged into the ps3 console.
Does anyone have some sort of homebrew that allows this or any fixes? I would be immensely thankful if you could help me!

Unfortunately, the PS2Net_Emu aka (PS2 Classics), the PlayStation2 Software Emulation that NON-Backwards Compatible PlayStation3s run off, doesn´t have Buzz! Peripheral Support, due to the Emulator only being selected to work on a few "official" titles, and the Buzz Games were never part of this compatibility list, and Buzz Controler support was never implemented.

The Only PlayStation3s that will accept BUZZ! Controler Peripheral support, are the 1st Generation PlayStation3s that have PlayStation2 Hardware inside, models being CECHA/B (20/60Gb) and CECHC/E (60/80Gb), these run on different methods of emulation for the PlayStation2 Software, which are compatible with almost 90% of the PlayStation2 Peripherals, including BUZZ! Controlers.

So in other words, unless you own a 1st Generation PlayStation3,these Titles will work, but Peripheral support will be absent, and there is no way to bring BUZZ! Peripheral support to the PS2 Classics (PS2Net_Emu), these are hardcoded within the Emulator themself.

There is no way to make homebrew or anything to make it work? :(

Nope not unless Sony adds this but that will never happen. You either need a full backwards compatible model or a PS2 I'm afraid. Buzz controllers work with my CECHB-01 but neither of my slim models.

The short answer is No, due to the nature of the Emulator, if Sony wished to port the PS2 Titles of Buzz over to the PlayStation3,they would have to rewrite the entire code of PlayStation2 peripheral support, they never done this, because Buzz! Titles are available for the PlayStation3 as well, and as far as i know, the PlayStation2 Buzz Controlers are only compatible with the PlayStation3 Version of Buzz! Titles, but not with the PlayStation2, due to the Emulator peripheral support.

This game was also ported for the PlayStation3 in 2009, only available for the PlayStation Store in Europe, includes DualShock3 and Buzz! Controlers Support.

Isn't CECHB-01 only software emulation and CECH-Axx are the only ones fully backward compatible? Don't know anything myself, just what I read online. I'm considering on bying a PS3 that can play PS2-Buzz-ISO-files (as well as other games) and I tought CECH-Axx ones are my only options. Howerver, based on what you wrote, it doesn't seem that way. Can you confirm that CECH-Bxx really does recognize the buzzers when playing (.iso file not official CD) PS2 Buzz? Or do they work only with the official copies of PS2 Buzz?

Well i bought an CECHC04 one based on what Naked_Snake1995 had wrote earlier.... hopefully I made the right move.

No. CECHA/B are fully BC (GS+EE), while CECHC/E are partially BC (only GS). The rest are non-BC because no PS2 hardware is included.
Okay, thanks for the reply! I bought an CECHC04 one since Naked_Snake1995 had wrote earlier that all of these 4 versions you listed will accept BUZZ! Controler Peripheral support.

Some sources claim that buzzers work only with CECHA/B (20/60Gb) and others that all four BC-models (CECHA/B (20/60Gb) & CECHC/E (60/80Gb)) are fine. Can you confirm one or the other? I already ordered a CECHC04 one tho lol.
