PS3 {Help!} [4.90] Unable to play any game after installing cfw and logging into PSN

So I´ve recently found my old PS3 and since I had nothing better to do at that time I decided to jailbreak it and install some cfw on it just for fun.

After installing the latest version of Evilnat and WebMan I remembered that I had some old trophies still on the system from when I was a kid, I never logged into a PSN account back in the days, so I thought to myself "why not just add these trophies to my account" .

So I installed the PSNPatch plugin and logged into my Account to sync the trophies, but nothing happened. I thought that maybe I need to start these games again for it to register but when I put a game in and started it I got greeted with the error code "8002291B"

I didnt really find anything on it online so I just thought to myself maybe I just need to logout and play them offline but whenever I do that I get the error code "80022d11" and get booted to the main menu
Does anyone have a solution for this. I´m even willing to uninstall cfw again If that means I´ll be able to play with my old savefiles again

TLDR: Getting error code "8002291B" and "80022D11" after signing into PSN on cfw console

I'm afraid your trophy set is corrupted and can not be synced.

The only solution is to delete the trophy folder and rebuild the database, but every trophy will be lost.

But does that mean I'll be able to load my old save files? If so its not a big deal, I didnt really care that much about trophies, just thought it would be nice to have them.

If You spoofing IDPS, or using any masking plugin, You will not be able to sync trophies (and with different IDPS, You already poisoned all trophy set which was edited while such plugin was active).

As Berion said before, if your IDPS and the PSID are the same used for the creation of your save files, you can still use them as usual.

If not, then you must use Apollo Save Tool to resign them.

So after I delete the trophy folder and rebuild the database I would be able to play again as long as I´m not using PSNPatch to spoof my IDPS, is that correct? Also, how would I be able to go online then, because from what I´ve seen using PSNPatch seems to be the standard way of going online with a cfw console. Sorry if this is a stupid question:apologetic:

Yes to the trophy part, no to the PSN part.

PSNPatch no longer works because Sony changed the login method on FW 4.89. If you want to go online, you need to install FW 4.90.

PSNPatch is ancient history at this point. Nobody uses it anymore as the functionality is already baked into recent Evilnat CFW.
  • Install Evilnat CFW 4.90 - it's the only CFW based on the latest firmware version, and contains all the goodies other CFWs ever had (yes, even Rebug). It it not recommended to spoof your firmware version if you don't have to.
  • Do not spoof your IDPS unless you've been banned from PSN before. Since it's the first time you've jailbroken your console, it is very unlikely you've already been banned.
  • Before going online you need to disable syscalls. If you're using Evilnat this can be done directly from the ★Custom Firmware Tools menu in XMB (in the Network tab). If you have webMAN MOD installed (very recommended) you can also use the R2+Triangle shortcut. Note that this will break a lot of homebrew apps. To restore syscalls just restart your PS3.
This should allow you to login to PSN.

However - since you've never logged in to PSN before it means that you've never synced your trophies and savegames before so unfortunately there's nothing to sync back. I'm pretty sure the trophies are gone at this point but the savegames might still be salvageable.
  • Log out of PSN and restart the console to restore syscalls.
  • Check whether that's enough to make your old saves work when offline. If they do work then you can disable syscalls and login to PSN to sync them. If they still don't work, proceed to the next bullet.
  • Download the Apollo Save Tool from Brewology, install and run it.
  • Use Apollo to resign all the savegames on your PS3. That should make them work again.
Please note that using PSN on a jailbroken console is not perfectly safe. If you remember to disable syscalls and don't do any of the stuff listed below it's like 99% safe, but it's never 100% safe, and if you're banned then both the console is banned and the account is closed, so never use the same account as the one you use for your PS4 / PS5.
Now assuming you don't want to get banned -
  • Never cheat or use game mods online. I'd say that 90% of the people who get banned get banned for cheating - and they deserve it imho.
  • Do not sync hacked trophies. By hacked trophies I mean that you use homebrew to just unlock them without actually obtaining them through gameplay. I know that it might be tempting to easily restore all the trophies you had before but don't - Sony has heuristic methods of detecting hacked trophies when you try to sync them and, being server side, we can't know exactly how they work, and if they determine a trophy is hacked, you get banned.
  • Do not login to PSN with syscalls not disabled.
  • Do not play backups and/or pirated games online.
  • Do not play Counterstrike BO2 or any later title in the series on a jailbroken console. Those specific games are notoriously known for scanning your PS3 looking for popular homebrew and reporting to PSN. You'll get banned as soon as you enter the multiplayer menu. The only way to make a console safe for those specific games is to both revert it to OFW and reformat the internal HDD. Playing them offline in single player mode is safe.

If you have webMAN MOD installed (very recommended) you can also use the R2+Triangle shortcut. Note that this will break a lot of homebrew apps.

R2+Triangle or disable CFW syscalls does not "break" the homebrew apps. It is not a bug or error. The homebrews are *blocked* on purpose by Cobra payload to avoid users start homebrews being connected to PSN.

This is a safety measure implemented to prevent showing to your online friends (Sony included) that you're running a homebrew, which is a clear indication that CFW or HEN is installed and the console/user should be tagged for banning.

I was sure it breaks homebrew just because some homebrew apps need those syscalls (e.g. to access the root filesystem).
