Help for jailbreaking the Ps3

On 3.55 or below, user can just install any update package, whatever it is OFW or CFW. Past this fw, flash patch is required

If i understood correctly on 3.55 OFW and below CFW can be directly be installed without the need of flash patching ?
So means on my cechb with 4.84 rebug rex i can simply enable the qa flags and downgrade to 1.00 OFW then again upgrade to 4.84 CFW and keep doing this without the need of patching nand (flash)

On 3.55 CFW or OFW or any lower version of OFW (and CFW if exist).

Downgrading through set up QA flag can be made freely in any direction but not lower than factory firmware version (because older fw not supporting hardware appeared in newer). But generally speaking, yes.

BTW: Here is complex tutorial about updating firmware, what support and what not in matter of USB. It is targeting OFW but all the rules applies to CFW too.
