PS2 Help installing POPStarter

I'm reading the shaolin assassin quick start guide for internal hdd and I can't figure out step c. What exactly am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to rename the popstarter.elf file after my vcd file?also I don't have game.elf or game.vcd is "game" filler for whatever my vcd game is called or do I need different files? I cannot figure this out please help.

Use some toolkit if have troubles or read APA Partitionology tutorial (in PS2 tutotrial section ;]).

There are many ways of preparing logic. In example from partition per game, or from __common, or from sequence of partitions. Loaded from APA section, loaded from POPStarter executable or loaded from uLE KHN which loading POPStarter. What You chose depend what and where to put stuff and how to name them. Choose Your poison.

Copy IOPRP252.IMG, POPS.ELF and POPSTARTER.ELF files to hdd0:/__common/POPS

The tutorial I watched had me copy POPSTARTER.ELF to hdd0:/+OPL/POPS. Anyway I tried it the way you said and still get a black screen and then back to ulaunchelf. My vcd file is in hdd0:/__.POPS named as SCUS_942.44.Crash Bandicoot - Warped (USA).VCD. Do I need to rename anything? Also my IOPRP252.IMG original showed up as IOPRP252.IMG.IMG in uLaunchElf but on my pc it is IOPRP252.IMG. I just renamed it in ulaunch elf. It's file type is listed as Disc Image File on my pc. The video I watched it is a virtual clone drive. Both are 260KB. I appreciate any help I've been trying to figure this out for a few days.

Okay hang on update. I copied my OPNPS2LD.ELF to my hdd0:/__sysconf/FMCB/ and booted it from their and it worked. But now it's also working when I boot from my OPNPS2LD.ELD in my mc0. I finally got it to work I'm so happy ha. Thank you so much. Not quite sure exactly what fixed it because I had it setup exactly like you said and it didn't boot but now after having OPNPS2LD in my hdd it works both ways. So maybe that was the problem?
