PS3 [HELP] N00b guidance - which is best?

Greetings and thank you in advance to anyone taking the time to help.

My own PS3 (non-jailbroken) was stolen and my account compromised. Friend practically gift me theirs for the holidays. It still has their account linked and now my sibling's account linked (which they use a lot on ps4) as well as my own new account. They are both looking to use the PS3 as well, since we're all account sharing in the same household

Details: It's a Slim 2501A model with firmware 4.87 (which I think is CFW compatible, TBD)

I've scoured through this site all week, the info overload is crazy if I can be honest, y'all are genius wizards or something... yet I still have so many questions that I feel getting someone to answer or provide links would help a lot and would be greatly appreciated.

Hence why I joined and am making this post... I'm overwhelmed and confused between all of the options. I understand the rudimentary differences between CFW/HFW and how HEN is pretty much the best option ( I think I'm leaning to) but am still not sure or able to find info on if it would do what I need it to, also understanding when/how to implementing which method and which is best for my situation is beyond me regarding OS versions and if it contains everything I need or I would have to get other software installed.

Looking for a currently working jailbreak/software that:
- Doesn't require factory reset/erasing any data
- Keeps other accounts/profiles/data on console intact and/or does not compromise them
- Safest online/psn store access (I understand it always carries a risk, I'm trying to diminish that as much as possible)
- Helps restore my previous data that I did have backed up (game saves mainly)
- Let's me edit saves/trophy data (I'd like to unlock my old trophies I did legit in my old account) + trophy sync
- Can create game back ups from disks
- Can be removed without a factory reset in case fecal matter hits the fan

So if anyone could please help out and guide me by sharing some of their knowledge and expertise and providing either names/links/ + reasons to either a complete solution or possible software combinations, it would be immensely appreciated.

If your console already has CFW, you can update directly to CFW Evilnat 4.89.2. It's done like a regular update.
Note: Evilnat 4.89.3 PEX and D-PEX are coming soon. It's like Rebug on steroids for 4.89.

If your console has OFW, currently the tools to patch your console for CFW are unavailable. They will come back soon.
Meanwhile your unique option is HFW+HEN if your console doesn't have CFW installed or if it isn't CFW compatible.

The safest way to go online is upgrading to Evilnat 4.89 or HFW 4.89+HEN.
The last time I tested, it was possible to go online from an older FW version using webMAN MOD + /dev_hdd0/ps3-updatelist.txt

The PS3 use custom syscalls (peek, poke, etc.) when HEN is enabled or when CFW is installed.
These syscalls should be removed before go online. Some games (eg. GTAV, CoD BO2, Destiny, etc) detect these syscalls and flag your account or console for banning from PSN.

If you install webMAN MOD, the CFW syscalls can removed quickly using the combo R2+TRIANGLE
Evilnat 4.89 has a menu option in Network > Custom Firmware Tools that allow to disable the syscalls.

Your accounts never are touched when you install HEN or CFW. And they don't compromise your data if you obtain them from trusty sources like this forum or brewology.

You can create game back ups from disks using multiMAN, IRISMAN or ManaGunZ. They work on HEN or CFW.

To manage your saves and trophies you can use Apollo Save Tool.

No. bgtoolset is currently the unique tool that allows jailbreaking OFW 4.87 but it's temporarily unavailable.

There are other 2 alternatives in development: ps3xploit flash writer for 4.89 and HEN Flasher.
None of these are public yet.

No. When bgtoolset is available again you will be able to patch any official firmware version from 4.80 to 4.89.

You can use any profile safely. However there are some recommendations:
1- Disable automatic login to PSN on the default account. That way your console won't call home when you turn it on.
2- Disable also any automatic updates
3- Although you can use your existing accounts, it is suggested to create a new account to play online. If your console is banned for some mistake, you won't lose your purchased content if the account is banned too.
4- Always disable CFW syscalls before login to PSN
5- Never play homebrews while you're connected to PSN
6- Never use cheats or game mods while you're playing online.

Do you get a ban even if you play those games offline? i.e., if you launch them without disabling syscalls (but without being online on PSN either) do they somehow flag your console so it gets banned the next time you connect to PSN even if the game isn't running?
