Help with my PS3 HDD!

So what happened is that multiMan would usually crash on startup, so I decided the visit the web to do the 'Restore PS3 System' in recovery mode trick, however during restoration, the PS3 claimed that there is an error and it must be formatted. I panicked as formatting will of course lose all of my games, save data so I restarted the console and it is trying to do the same restoration again and the errors keep happening. I did try to use 'Rebuild Database' and 'Restore Settings' in recovery mode, but the hard drive seems to not feel like it and everytime I try to reboot my PS3 after that, it's stuck in restoration mode. Right now as I'm posting this, I'm using DiskGenius to make sure my hard drive isn't really that corrupted and might need to try and fix this.
For now, can you give me explanations as to why that was the cause and how can I fix it? Thanks.

Unfourtunaly by connecting the HDD to a PC you probably overwrote the first block on the platter's hdd, by that the console will now have issues to initialize the OS. If you still are able to see the restoration bar, just try to update the FW via secure mode, maybe by doing that you could go into XMB again.

If You modified Your HDD by any way on PC, You made Your life a LOT harder... Initialization means = MBR or GPT written over PS3PT. If You made any changes by this DiskGenius on a disk, You destroyed its logic (besides that it is already broken but possible breaks beyond data recovery after decryption).

Speaking of which:

But You need EID Root Key, so You need CFW to read it. If You have HEN, it means You already lost ALL data from this HDD. If You have CFW, I can help You recover data if possible (depend of damages kind).

There's two types of people: those who make backups and those who will start making backups. Let this experience be your lesson why you should start making backups.

For majority of people, disk is just a disk. They are not aware that data formats can be vary and living in conviction that in worst scenario they can just connect to Windows or macOS and poof, all can be copied. :)
