help with PS3 Hfw 4.86

I have a slim PS3 CECH-3001B.

recently JB with HFW 4.86, HẸN 3.0.2, multiman v4.85.01, webman 1.47.35:


1) how can I resolve black screen when I start a game ? the only way to exit is to press and hold the power til it shuts down.

2) i wish to be able to play 3D ISO movies, will I be able to and how?

3) I assume, I CANNOT install CFW on MY ps3........correct?

1# if you're trying to run a "folder game", convert the game to a valid PS3 ISO. Folder game format is obsolete, and it can fail in many games (like those black screens).
You can create the PS3 ISO in your computer, or directly on the PS3. If you have IRISMAN, you can create the ISO from your folder game easily, right from the ps3.
If the game also fails in ISO format, then it might be a bad dump. Take your original disc and make a new dump with a backup manager.

#3 No, your ps3 model (3001B) does not support CFW. It can only run HEN. Don't try to follow any fake video claiming that you can install a CFW on such consoles, because it's either a scam or it will just brick your ps3.

HEN has issues with dynamic fan control. So make sure webMAN MOD fan control is set to manual or syscon. Not auto. This can cause black screen errors.

If you do get black screen errors, Sometimes I find when the controller is not working, you can reboot properly and more easily by accessing the http://x.x.x.x/restart.ps3 URL from another device on your LAN. (*x.x.x.x = your PS3s IP address).

Those should just work, Multiman or webMAN MOD can mount these from dev_hdd0/BDISO on the internal drive. You could run them off external NTFS drives too, or PS3netserv.

creating the ISO on a PC could be a faster if you have a SSD for example. In any case, the ps3 performance isn't bad either.

To create a PS3 ISO on your computer, I always recommend using Estwald's ps3iso tools:

ISOs can be played from an external HDD (fat32, ntfs, or exfat). If you use FAT32, you need to split the ISOs over 4Gb (makeps3iso tool can do it for you)

Irisman is a backup manager. It's free and open-source, you can download the package from:

to make an ISO from a ps3 folder game, you only need makeps3iso . Keep in mind that it's a command line tool.

You might want to download extractps3iso if you want to extract a ps3 ISO back to folder & files.

Hi I couldnt find the post where you said how the SFO and PNG file are created?...my iso games suddenly stopped working(exfat drive) and the PNG/SFO files arent in the temporary folder. So the disc says it loads but then error, PNG/SFO arent being generated but the games list shows all my games, just the "game [blus90909].iso.ntfs[PS3ISO]" files. How do i get the PNG/SFO files back?
