Hi guys, strage thing happen to me after i installed HEN on super slim. The problem is when i have LAN cable pluged in PS3 and i try to start HEN i always get the error message failed/reboot, when i unplug the cable and start it everything is working fine, i have formated internal storage and hdd twice (reinstalled HFW twice) thinking maybe it will solve the problem but it doesn't. Is there any way i could FTP to PS3 and change something in HEN to be able to start it with lan cable pluged in????

P.s. I have tried to disable internet connection in settings and then it also works with connection disabled, (but it is a pain in the a** to do it everytime i start the system.

it may be that your starting hen when plugged into the pc. have you tried plugging directly into the router? I know that my internet connection is unstable if I bridge connections just in general.

I guess it's due to the fact that HEN checks for updates when it starts. If the internet is enabled and the cable is connected it must try to check, but if there is no path to the internet it is failing.

Does your console connect to the internet properly when you have the console connected to the PC? My guess is that it does not. You might be able to workaround this issue by setting up internet connection sharing (ICS) on the PC, or bridging your adaptors on the PC if it has more than one.

If not another solution would be to build your own HEN payload without the update check.

PS3 is directly connected to my Cable modem, i have stable 300 download 50 upload mbit internet connection.

Oh I misunderstood, your console is connected to a router not your PC directly. Not sure why it would be failing then TBH. It should be able to complete the update check if it is plugged into your router.

When i disable internet connection or unplug lan cable, when HEN starts and i put the connection back on, everyting works fine internet on console also works fine, cheking for updates works fine... it just wont start with internet on, i tried to manualy put the ip, dns, gateway in settings also no luck. When i do the disconect/conect then FTP to it to copy something on ps3 speeds are just fine... I even put the Googles DNS also no luck.

I mean that HEN checks for updates to HEN as its being enabled, anyway it should be working really if you have internet access on the console. Sorry I can not help.

I know what you meant, i think it is a Webman problem not HEN, i have a second ps3 also superslim (one in living room one in bedroom) the one in bedroom has no webman mod and that one starts without problems (was on hen2 i updated it on hen3 everything works on first attempt), i have just uninstalled webman mod on PS3 in my living room and it starts HEN with internet on, when i install webman again and restart the console i cant start HEN with internet on.

The mistake i made with the living room ps3 is when i installed HEN, the first thing i did is install webman both times after both format/hfw/hen installations. Not knowing it will work without Webman.

P.S. I didnt change anytning in Webman mod, just installed it. And with Webman and internet HEN wont start.
I have the latest Webman mod.
Is there something in Webman i need to set???

And thank you so much for your time and help.

@aldostools might have some idea why running webMAN is effecting HEN enabler, not sure as but he does not use HEN himself so possibly not. He might see this mention and reply if he has any ideas.

You could try play with some of webMANs settings, like disable the content scan at start up maybe.

Fresh update
Fun fact
With Webman installed i can start HEN on wifi internet without LAN cable, i changed the LAN cable no luck, change the port on cable modem still no luck, put PC LAN cable on that same port that PS3 was hooked on internet works fine, loged in in router settings totaly disabled firewall still no luck with LAN. Wi-Fi works - LAN does not with internet on. Very strange...

are you sure lan is working at all?
Yes becose when i unplug it start hen plug it back on i get the ip adress in settings and i can FTP to PS3 from my pc, speeds are just fine, the only thing is that i cant start HEN with cable and webman in ps3 and internet on, with wifi i can. I can open PSX place from internal browser when on lan... everything is fine. It just wont start HEN when i install webman and the cable is plugged in. I can start HEN without webman and with cable in i even get the message in right corner when it checks for updates.

P.S. I install HEN online with cable in. As soon as i install webman mod, i cant start HEN on cable internet but on wi-fi i can.

ive seen a few people with this issue. some also believe webman is involved. never could reproduce.

With Webman installed i can start HEN on wifi
this how i am setup, wifi connection with webman and never saw any problems. but i think there are many people using lan with no problems so there may be another factor.

well, the bridging connections is the only time I've seen issues with the internet with my two systems. ftp via a direct connection works perfectly fine, but it doesn't like it when you add surfing the internet at the same time. that's what I thought the op was doing at first, because I think he mentions connecting directly to the pc for ftp purposes.

Final update

I think maybe it is the ISP or country problem, i am from Serbia, i have setup USA VPN like 30 minutes ago, when i am on VPN and on LAN HEN starts everytime with webman mod installed, as soon as i disconnect from VPN and use original internet connection i cant get it to work on LAN cable but on Wi-fi it does... sounds very silly i know, but i have just tested it on VPN 10 times out of 10 times HEN starts on LAN with webman without problems. But with original connection from my ISP it only starts over wi-fi with webman mod installed. And it starts normlaly on LAN without webman.

I didn't think of that. I sometimes in the past have used a Japanese proxy, a free one, to get around file host limitations. I might try a vpn someday, but I mostly use usenet, which my isp wouldn't know what I was downloading anyway.

Sound like a long shot with VPN doesn't it, i know i think the same, but for some reason it works...
