PS3 HEN Toolbox v1.00 (by DeViL303) - Adds a ton of functionality to your PS3 XMB on PS3HEN

First we had the HAN Toolbox for the now dated HAN exploit (essentially replaced by Ps3HEN) but XMB modder and developer @DeViL303 has another project in store for Ps3HEN user's and that project is the newly released HEN Toolbox that contains alot of functionality and features directly to your XMB for convenience and easy execution, The developer did not leave many details about toolbox itself (thanks to all whom do not read, rest of us suffer for info ;p ) but @DeViL303 does provide a video showing off many of the features and functionality found in this new toolbox for Ps3HEN's user's XMB with this impressive XMB modification. Also, Ps3HEN user's If you have not seen the recent HENbrew Store released as well for Ps3HEN user's by @ShaolinAssassin then be sure to check that out for many Ps3HEN friendly releases.​

  It's new and it's the first release so it probably has bugs, use it at your OWN RISK. If you have any issues please report them here and I might try and fix them.​

  Note: This patches a few files on flash and hdd to add support for itself. Whenever you update HEN the toolbox will get disabled, and you will see a new icon on the XMB that will allow you to reapply the patches.
  
  WARNING: ONLY FOR HEN 2.2.2 and above as the PS3HEN.BIN
  needs to be on flash for the included enabler to work.​

Cool, I am working on a v1.01 update, it will just have a few minor changes, I will make a patch pkg with just the files that are different. will only be 4 or 5 small xmls in it I think.

 

@DeViL303 - something minor that I've observed after updating to HEN 2.3.0:

Restoring HEN Toolbox from XMB after HEN upgrade removes the HEN initialization splash screen (the rotating green box)

Yeah, if you update the toolbox from the XMB, I have added the nicer enabler to that patch.

worst case scenario, just reinstall HFW 4.84 from the recovery menu. That should restore the firmware and files to factory. Then you can just re-install PS3HEN 2.3.1 from scratch.

 

I have tried to install HAN Toolbox and this HEN Toolbox in my Rebug CFW but after rebooting it doesn't show up the icons haha. Can someone help? Ik I don't need this on CFW but seems cool added.

If you're on Rebug CFW, there is absolutely no benefit to HAN or HEN tools. Rebug Toolbox is the best thing you could install for your PS3, if you haven't done so already.

 

HEN Toolbox could be useful on CFW, it is basically CFW Toolbox with a few things changed. It has lots of universal stuff like Themes, Demos, Coldboots, waves, fonts. And lots of the other features are universal too.

HAN Toolbox is obsolete though pretty much.

@Shaayn This should work for all recent version of Rebug, I have included a category_game.xml and a category_game_tool2.xml that now have entries for both HEN Toolbox and HAN Toolbox.

It also has a duplicate icon fix applied.

Just copy these files to dev_blind aka dev_rebug aka dev_flash.

The path is vsh/resource/explore/xmb/

I will update it, but for now I am waiting on 4.84.

 

Any word on the new update? Would it be a hassle to add boot sounds to the menu? That would be cool.

Je possède deux PS3 qui sont sous le HFW-4.85.1/HEN-3.0.0.

J'ai installé la "HEN Toolbox" (fichier : HEN_Toolbox_v1.00_fw485_v3.pkg récemment téléchargé sur PSX-Place). Ce fichier est copié sur une clef USB2 et c'est la même clef qui a servi pour les deux PS3. Sur la PS3 Slim (3004B) il s'est très bien installé. Mais sur la PS3 SuperSlim (CECH-4204C) lors du redémarrage de la PS3 celle-ci est allée vers le "Recovery Mode" immédiatement et j'ai du réinstaller le HFW (deux fois) pour que ma PS3 reparte correctement sinon c'était re-bouclage sans cesse sur le "Recovery Mode".

Pour l'instant seul reste l'icône "HEN Toolbox Disabled" même après le "Recovery Mode".
Je n'ai aucun besoin de cette "boite à outils" dans cette PS3 Super slim, le test est pour moi infructueux sur celle-ci.

@DeViL303 : peux-tu m'aider à faire disparaître cette icône et le lien vers lequel elle pointe de la colonne "Jeu" ???
Je ne désire pas re-formatter complètement (FAT32) le disque dur car j'y ai passé trop de temps pour installer les différentes grosses mises-à-jours, les SAVEs, Trophées, etc… provenants d'autres consoles (je les synchronise entre elles).

I allow myself to tell you my recent problem.

I have two PS3s that are under the HFW-4.85.1 / HEN-3.0.0.
I installed the "HEN Toolbox" (file: HEN_Toolbox_v1.00_fw485_v3.pkg recently downloaded on PSX-Place). This file is copied to a USB2 key and it is the same key that was used for both PS3. On the PS3 Slim (3004B) it has settled very well. But on the PS3 SuperSlim (CECH-4204C) when restarting the PS3 it went to the "Recovery Mode" immediately and I had to reinstall the HFW (twice) for my PS3 to leave properly otherwise it was re-looping constantly on the "Recovery Mode".

For the moment, only the "HEN Toolbox Disabled" icon remains after the "Recovery Mode".
I have no need for this "toolbox" in this PS3 Super slim, the test is for me unsuccessful on it.

@ DeViL303: can you help me to make disappear this icon and the link towards which it points of the column "Game" ???
I do not want to re-format completely (FAT32) the hard drive because I spent too much time to install the different big updates, SAVEs, Trophies, etc ... from other consoles (I synchronize them between them).
