HEN Worth It ?

I was able to score a PS3 Slim, serial # 3001A, 4.90 OFW, 160GB HDD...

I've installed Rebug CFW to a few Phat PS3 Consoles, but I understand that the console I have isn't compatible with CFW, only HEN.

What's the difference between the two ?

With HEN:

Can I still run Emulators and play retro ROM games ?
Can I run PS2 .iso files ?

Can I still copy PS3 .iso files to my HDD and play them ?

You can play ps2 iso if they're encrypted as for roms ask @aldostools but yeah HEN is your most recommended for dumps of your ps3 and psx isos

I highly recommend setting up webMAN MOD on your HEN console for now till permaMamba comes out for hypervisor then you can decrypt them back later.

hen does most of what cfw does.

no linux on hen. you must enable hen at each ps3 boot. all homebrew should run, but do not install ccapi or sen enabler! do not enter factory service mode! also you can not use linux.

Yes, PS3 Slim 3001A only supports HEN. You first need to install HFW 4.90, then HEN

Short answer: HEN can do almost everything CFW can do, except it needs to be enabled manually after start and cannot run features that require LV1 patches (e.g. CCAPI, QA flag, linux, LV1 dump, etc).
