Change notes in V4

1. webMAN MOD has been removed for public beta builds. [due to too many people dislike having a pre-loaded webMAN trying to help cooling ps3 with loud noises]
2. Fixed the issue with netserv with multiMAN [mmCM] causing 800 error when mounting games.
3. Fixed the issue with blocking syscall 11 causing issues with some of those habib's homebrew that using syscall 11 [ex) habib's qa toggle.
4. Improved PSX region/video setting bypass [conditional patches done in game_ext_plugin], this should fix the issue with video setting that prevents loading PSX games with different region.
4. In VSH, PSP DRM fix is implemented to fix 80029537 error when launching converted PSP PKG games.

Change notes in V3 Public beta

Changes in this release since V3 sample version.

-webMAN is removed for the public beta release [Originally included in V3 sample for private testing]
If you'd like to remove "webMAN GAME" in XMB if that's still shown, look for the fb.xml located in this path "/dev_hdd0/xmlhost/game_plugin/fb.xml"
Delete the fb.xml to completly remove "webMAN GAME"

However, you can easily install webMAN with webMAN 1.41.01 installer pkg.

Install any CFW at your own risk.

I know that many appreciate what devs do, but the fact of the matter is that scenes r supposed to be a community, not a small group of people who do everything. people essentially build off of others' work, because no one has the time or the ability to figure everything out on their own. however, it still seems to be the same small group, gradually getting smaller, who still do everything. I think most assume they can't do something, then don't even try. u can, and there r people in the scene who can help u if u get stuck or run into problems. the fact that someone tries is really what counts, not whether or not they succeed.

After all, we both figured it was a user error, now he's going to learn how to build proper psx game rips. It wasn't the problem with mmCM or COBRA.

I just wanted to thank you personally for the assistance and taking time out of your day to help a fellow ps3 owner on CFW. I appreciate your insight and mentoring on proper PSX ripping/converion. I've got a lot to learn. In my search I've noticed that not ALL PSX ROMS will work, so I will continue searching and learning conversions of the different types of extentions...so many! For example .ccd, .mdf, .ape and so on, more programs needed to convert some of these and then still might not work, so its been a trial and error for me so far, but thanks for the intro to this area, for the longest, Ps2 isos and PS3 Game folders with split files were the norm for me cuzz I thought that PSX would have been easier...NOT the case! well sorry for rambling, just wanted to let THE SCENE know that its people like JOONIE, HABIB, DEANK and countless others whom I might not be familiar with, that make wanting to learn this stuff an art, again, THANX GUYS, much love, PEACE OUT.

I really interested in this cfw, I just wanna play online ps3, nothing of ps2,psx or psp... I'm always use cfw cobra, webman and psnpatch, so this cfw works fine for it???

Greetings from Mexico!!!

Yes is fine for online gaming. Just remember to use psnpatch or sen enabler. Webman also is working fine.

MannyMania due to the issue with remote play / ps1emu , I'm going to remove that conditional game_Ext_plugin that ignores video setting, I think you need to find a better tv that supports PAL resolution for those PAL games or play NTSC ones instead.

On my side, without that patch, I can play both PAL/NTSC games just fine on both CECHA01/E01. Or you could use the old 4.65 cobra with broken video mode fix that currently let you play ps1 games on your console.

I'm so sorry to tell you. Future cobra payload will not support that patch at all.

Joonie What difference will it make with out that patch. Will it affect cinivia protection. Sorry if this is a stupid question I don't understand that side of things. I have two consoles tho if you ever need any testing done

Phil this will not affect cinavia patches. Difference is that PSX PAL games now will be displayed in PAL50 like on non modded PS3, for me that patch was not needed.

Hey Joonie, I'm not sure about the tv?? Mine is a sony 55 1080p 3D smart LED TV. I also tried it on a friends Samsung 55 1080p Plasma and another's Samsung 55 4K tv and got the same video error. If you plan to discontinue official support, can we overlay files ourselves in the newer cfw's to keep that patch. Is it just that??? Some of the titles I think were Euro only so it would be a shame to loose support for them.

Cheers,
MM

Ok so that means the current released v4 worked out for you? You barely reported anything much so far so I wasn't even sure if the fix worked on your side, there is a native bug in A01/E01 themselves that can't detect 576p support from video setting and I have no clue why this does this, the issue is quite random on my end and currently i get the issue again on my a01/e01 however this broken video error fix works great when the issue happens but the problem is this breaks remote playback with vita for those psx games, if you could confirm what I asked before, that would be really really helpful since I have so much things to do at the moment, tbh psx playback is my least concern since I don't play those european games

Sorry about not getting back to you. A life mishap happened that put things on hold for a bit. Yes the v4 fix worked perfectly!! Was there something you wanted tested specifically... Let me know. I hope that means we still may have the patch in the next release :)

I mentioned it before but I don't think it's at all patch related, but more the PSX emu itself. I use webman and when you quit a PSX game back to XMB, and then load another PSX game you get a black screen. It you select restart system and then load another PSX title it loads fine. I can live with the restart system if it means the PAL titles will work. Just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks,
mm

MannyMania are you tried my advice from that post? http://www.psx-place.com/forum/ps3-news/beta-v0-3-4-75-habib-cobra-v7-10-a-2373-10.html#post18723 This setting can produce video error on NTSC consoles, when pal game is loaded. Please try different settings and you shouldn't see any error then.

Hi kozarovv, Thanks for your input. When I first got the error I was sure that it was system related. I spent a few days forcing every resolution with combinations of upscaling/smoothing on and off and no luck. It seams it's really the PS3 that is throwing the error. It looks like Joonie has locked it down though. V4 solved it.

Thanks,
mm

I have no problem like this unless I mounted psx games via webMAN + Netserv combination, this is the known issue since the first release of webMAN long ago. Current work around for netserv is to use multiMAN instead.

Otherwise i don't have that issue. I have an idea about using flags to force the patch if users like you wanted, however I found another work around, via debug VSH [which is the default of REBUG REX cfw]

You can fake your region to UK and use custom resolution, the trick is to use 576p only first, [you have to disable all the others], then it will firstly load psx games [PAL] fine, then you can change the video setting to allow other resolutions [720p,1080i, and 1080p] as well, after then you can enjoy both PAL/NTSC games without any more problems unless you change your region back to North Amercia again, [I tested this a lot to get the coherent result]

Hi Joonie, Wow!! I used webman and Netserv and form day one it came into being and never read that issue. I don't know how I missed that. BIG Thanks for clearing that up! These days I don't even have Multiman installed as webman is very easy for the Kids. Almost like WiiFlow.

For testing the region fix would I have to go back to V3 and try it, or is that something that needs to be implemented in the next release first? Interested in your flags idea!...Sounds more automatic!

Thanks,
mm

Hey Joonie!! I've installed rebug 4.70.1 rex. I set system mode to Rebug, xmb operation mode to Debug, debug menu type to Dex. I set the region to Europe and let it auto detect my video mode but selected NO to the 1080p so it defaulted to 576p. I then changed the display settings and checked off all the available video modes. The PSX Pal titles load fine! I was looking at the options in Rebug and it gave me an idea. I don't know if it's possible but could Rebug have support to add scanlines on PSX titles??

Thanks,
mm
