Hi there,
I came across this forum to get some help with my PS3 with CFW (Rebug)- especialliy running PS1-Games on it.
So I will wait until I get access to the Forum so I can post my topic there.
Stay safe and have all a good start into the new year.

Every PS3 model can play PS1 games using software emulation. Cobra (comes with Evilnat CFW, idk about Rebug) allows you to play burned discs as well as original/official ones. Iso files can be played with webMAN/multiMAN/ManaGunZ but I haven't really tried it myself. There are many tutorials out there for both HEN and CFW

Thanx for your answer - I know about those things but I have a typical question according psx covers. This I will post in the corresponding forum as soon as I have the access to do so.

I don't think you will get access if you just wait. Ask your question here in the starting line and someone should be able to help you.

Regarding PS1/PSX Covers you will find all the Info. you need on the webMAN MOD Wiki. It will tell you specifically where to place your Cover Art Files, Image Format, HDD Path, Etc. even for multiMAN or multiMAN MOD.

webMAN MOD Wiki:

Also I will include some Templates for Creating your own Covers which are not my own but simply from the Forums here that I have found very useful for quite a long while now.

Thx - to concretize this, here's my situation:
  • I have a bunch of PSX-ISOs on an external HD.
  • The ISOs are named like the game (e.g. Acuta Golf 3 (Europe).iso)
  • I have installed a psx cover-pack for Mulitman but the Files are named like the ID of the game (BLES1234.jpg). So there ist no match an no covers are shown in the retro section of MM.
  • I'v found a pack with covers that are named like the game (Actua Golf 3 (Europe).png) and tried to copy them in the covers_retro/psx-Folder of MM but the files were not copied.
  • So I renamed the /psx folder to /mybackup, created a new /psx folder and copied the covers in there - no success.
  • I've also tried Managunz but the scan-process takes very long and won't finish (it stucks after scanning the last game - bulltet runs but it won't get further)
  • I have also tried Irisman but this won't scan the isos on my external HD.
So - do you have a further hint for me? When starting the game from MM it runs...but I'd really like to have the covers.
I also searched for a renamer-tool to change the iso name to the ID - but I didn't get it to work properly.

I would Recommend just Deleting your current mmCM Installation & Re-Installing the Latest Version of multiMAN MOD first, Then we can try to Fix your Covers & BIN's & CUE's. (BIN/CUE is Recommended!)

Copy out any Files you want to keep from your mmCM Install under: /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/

Then Highlight MutliMan from the PS3's XMB & Delete. Install Newest multiMAN MOD via Package Installer.

Assure your Images are Named correctly, Which for PS1/PSX & PS2 Games will be as the following Naming Structure w/ Uppercase File Extensions: SLUS_xxx.xx_COV.JPG or .PNG

^^^ Where SLUS_xxx.xx is Replaced with your Games' Title ID, Just make sure not to forget the Underscore & Period inbetween the 3 & 2 Characters after the Region Correspondence. (For Europe it will be SLES rather than SLUS!)

Example using the Game you Requested/Provided: SLES_010.42_COV.JPG or .PNG

Put your Cover Art Images under: /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers_retro/psx/

Alright, Now for the Game Roms themselves. You're going to want to keep the BIN's & CUE's inside a Folder. As long as you place your Games within the Directory that multiMAN will be Searching for they will be found, Which is under: /dev_hdd0/PSXISO/

When Applicable, Games' Folders & Roms themselves can be Named with any Naming Style you choose, As long as the BIN/CUE Files both have the exact same Name as Each other as well as the Folder they are Contained in. For Example once again using the PlayStation 1 Title you have Selected;

BIN/CUE
Extension Example: /dev_hdd0/PSXISO/Actua Golf 3 (PAL)/Actua Golf 3 (PAL).BIN + /dev_hdd0/PSXISO/Actua Golf 3 (PAL)/Actua Golf 3 (PAL).CUE

If you are still having problems, Just remember before you attempt any of this the Covers themselves need to be Resized to 240px x 240px to Ensure Compatibility.

Hopefully you can Figure this all out & All the best!

Thanx for all your help. I will try to set up MM new.
But MM finds all the PSX-Isos on the external HD and runs them...it's just the cover missing...so I think threre's no special need in converting them to cue/bin or am I wrong?
