PS3 how can I get ps1 games to work on ps3 hen?

Hiya I recently installed all of this stuff, so I'm pretty new, basically i did every step and followed every guide on youtube on how to sort the ps1 files of bin and cue.

I put them into the ps1 folder of the hdd on system.

When I launch the game it's freezes at ps2 splash screen with glitches graphics.

I want to play robot alchemic drive.

Does it just need to be patched with config file??

I thought they went in the PSXISO folder. They may have to be single bin files with cue.

Are you trying to play ps1 or ps23 games?
Your title says ps1 games but your description says ps2 splash screen?
Anyways, HEN based consoles can only play ps2 games that have been converted to .pkg format and installed directly to the hdd, you also have to sign into the psn network and have an active network connection to utilize HEN's on the fly licensing.
For ps1 games, Put all of the files related to the title you want to play into the PSXISO folder. They do not have to be in .iso format

Anyways, HEN based consoles can only play ps2 games that have been converted to .pkg format and installed directly to the hdd, you also have to sign into the psn network and have an active network connection to utilize HEN's on the fly licensing.
For ps1 games, Put all of the files related to the title you want to play into the PSXISO folder. They do not have to be in .iso format

Oh and the game is called robot alchemic drive, however it's split into a bin and cue file some reason, so that's why I thought it was a ps1 game.

2nd this comment. More then likely just a bad rip. Seeing that splash screen is great as it shows the emulation side of things to be working fine. Have you tried with another game by chance?

I doubt I will be able to rip it again any better, there's only one type/version of it sadly. Unless there is a version I haven't found. But yeah I thought it was a ps1 game, but it says its a ps2 game, but it isn't a iso but just a bin and cue. So I'm confused. But I can try again later, I doubt it will work, I've tried getting ps3sx beta pkg on my ps3 from brewology. It says in need SCPH1001.bin however there is no instructions on how to use it/ put bin file, I'm on ps3 hen, so idk if it will work, I've tried retroarch but it doesn't have ps1/ps2 cores

If your ISO is from a PS2 game, it will never work with any PS1 emulator.

WebMAN MOD and multiMAN already have the PS1 emulator launcher. There is no need for that "ps3sx beta pkg".

Again, rip your disc if you want to play it, either with your PC or with your PS3. Or even better: insert it into your PS3 as all models can run PS1 games.

If you were trying to run Robot Alchemic Drive while under the impression that it was a PS1 game, then I imagine that you used the PS1 conversion method and not the PS2 conversion method. Its a PS2 game so you need to use PS2Classics GUI to convert the .bin to either an encrypted ISO or a PKG format file.

I would suggest reviewing Part 6 of the PS3HEN AIO guide for the PS2 conversion. It goes over how to create an encrypted ISO from either a .bin OR a .iso format game backup, and then generate the PKG from there. You can then copy the PKG to a USB and install the standard way.

That's not quite true, HEN is also able to run encrypted PS2 ISOs via an emulator like PS2 Classics Launcher. You mount the ISO via webMAN, then launch the PS2 Classics Launcher app and it will run the mounted ISO.

What are you talking about? HEN based consoles cannot run ps2 .ISO games natively. The method you mentioned above only works if you use Apollo Save Tool and convert the .iso to a .bin & .enc file to then be ran by the console. You failed to mention that part!
Converting ps3 games to .pkg format for HEN based consoles is the easiest way, and most commonly used.
Its also much easier to convert the games to .pkg format because then you can ftp or usb drop the .pkg onto numerous HEN consoles at once and have it installed and playing much faster.

Hiya games update! I found out how to make it work! Yipeeee! Also I don't have a pc, but I got a friend from discord to convert the file to pkg file or iso instead!.

I found out, by reddit, you only need to convert the bin file to iso, and you don't need the cue part. It's just the start, however I did notice some bugs with the game, on episode 7/8 when I goto my hanger I'm the menu before I start the next mission, the commands menu doesn't work! It crashes my game/ freezes. The config file I use didn't fix it, so idk how to fix freeze/crash issue, maybe it's meant to be like that???

But yeah I don't have a pc. Which sucks.
