My dad gave me this console he had this he didn't buy a different one and neither did IThat's not an account ban. That PS3 is registered under someone else's account. I'm not sure what to do outside of calling Sony. The person was supposed to deactivate the system when they sold it.
You need to create another user on the PS3. Once you activate the console using a PSN account, the current user is permanently attached to that account and no other PSN account can log in with the same user.Yeah I figured it out but how do I pass the psn sign in because I do everything it says but then it tells me I can't sign in to an account with another user connected but I don't have another user is the problem
I tried to sign in after successfully unbanning my console but I am wondering if cfw has anything to do with this error message that says it's the same account used on different account but I don't have a psn account on my console at all
I have factory reset my console I've tried thatYou need to create another user on the PS3. Once you activate the console using a PSN account, the current user is permanently attached to that account and no other PSN account can log in with the same user.
There's also what Charles said. At some point Sony reduced the maximum number of activated consoles per account from 5 to 2. If you had a PS3 and it broke or you reformatted it or sold it without deactivating it first, you might have reached the limit. You should go to Sony's website, see if you have any already activated PS3s and deactivate them.I have factory reset my console I've tried that
Basically it's to prevent a scenario where you have up to four friends login to their PSN accounts on your console and downloading their digital games to it, and probably in exchange you to the same on their console. It means that previously a group of up to 5 people can share their digital games with each other. That's why Sony reduced it to 2.I assume the reason was to prevent game sharing piracy. I'm not sure about PlayStation, since I've always owned just one of each system, but to prevent it with Microsoft and Nintendo, they force you to sign in to play games on each subsequent system.
That's what I figured. People were doing that on the 360, and it was obviously a huge red flag considering you have to be online. Mass bannings from what I remember. There was also a modchip for the PS4 to increase share to 99. Mass bannings there too.Basically it's to prevent a scenario where you have up to four friends login to their PSN accounts on your console and downloading their digital games to it, and probably in exchange you to the same on their console. It's not a modchip, just a hardware flasher. You give your PS4 to someone and then he does this:That's what I figured.
