How do I stop PS3 from signing in to PSN?

The method given in the manual (copied below) does not work, or at least I cannot find this options menu. Was it removed in the latest firmware update?

Clearing the auto sign-in option

Select

(Account Management) under

(PlayStation™Network), and then select [Auto Sign-In Off] from the options menu. When you turn on the PS3™ system, it will no longer sign in automatically.

Since 4.88 the PSN login method changed.

Thanks heaps. Yes I am on 4.90. I am not sure I fully understood it, but I generated a new device password (used the phone app), and when I fired up the PS3 and went to PSN it asked me to sign in. I happily unchecked the automatic signin box, and hit signin - forgetting that I had generated a new password. However, it used the old one it had remembered, and that worked fine.

Now, I can start my PS3 without it automatically signing in to PSN. Great
