Hi all,
I've a PS3 Slim (CECH 2004) that I've upgraded to a 1TB SSD today, installing the OFW 4.91.
I thought I would be all set to follow the many guides available to install the CFW 4.91 EvilNat... but the problem is that now Sony has released the new FW 4.92.
Even if I've disabled the automatic updates and therefore I'm still on OFW 4.91, the issue is that the PS3 does not let me go online and use the browser with the warning that I should first update to the latest software version (4.92 released in early March).
So, without the ability to use the browser, I have no means to reach the PS3 toolset page and proceed with the exploit and installation of the CFW 4.91.
Is there any way to bypass this system check and avoid the PS3 to detect the availability of the new software 4.92? It is very annoying the the PS3 is not granted online access without updating to the latest version of the software first...
Even though my PS3 is fully compatible with CFW and it's still on OFW 4.91, is it really my only option to wait for the PS3 Toolset to support the online installation on 4.92 firmware before I can upgrade my PS3 slim to the CFW (4.92 at that point)?
Is there no way to bypass this annoying restriction to go online just because the PS3 detects that a new software version is available and that is should be installed to regain access to internet?
