How to make ps3 cfw.

Is there anyway I can build a CFW with fan control? I just want it a constant set speed. No ability to do anything but install Movian once. . Then I plan to edit XML to completely remove package installation. This system is the one in my kids room so it does not access PSN but I also don't want her to have access to anything else. I basically want an original firmware capable of running movian that will stay cool temp wise.

You can use cobra and http://aldostools.org/temp/test/sm.sprx , configure it thru irisman and then remove irisman itself. But still cobra/mamba is needed for that.

You could maybe use the sm.sprx plugin loaded automatically with prx autoloader or Mamba/Cobra?

Well I messed up on my talk-to-text it does connect to PSN I forgot as she uses it for Hulu Netflix and connecting to my PC to watch videos the only game that's played on there is Minecraft which is 100% legitimate. It's just a CECHL I just worry about the system calls and the account getting banned

There are various ways you could look into...
The sm.sprx & psnpatch.sprx could maybe be setup to suit your needs...

Another option might be to use a custom webMAN-MOD build removing most functionalities in flags.h, keep the most basic, the fan & the ability to remove syscalls...

Then protect access to wMM setup page or browser... You could rename webman.xml or modify it so the xmb entries go away as well..

Right now I run Ferrox 4.80 with PSN patch plugin to auto boot plugins. wmM disables syscalls upon boot and I have disguised Movian as a game. Put the stock XML back to remove PKG and app_home. I just hope that is enough as I can't afford a second Hulu account. So it's using my primary which has so many PS1, PSP, PS2, PS3, PS4 and Vita games that OT would hurt to lose them all

@atreyu187 did you think in doing the cooling improvement with hardware ?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Playstation...lerator-Controller-resist-YLOD-/190647913368?

I bought one like this (that exact model from that exact shop) and im very happy of how it works, you can regulate the "increase" that will be added to every signal that is sent from syscon ---> to fan

So the result is the PS3 fan will keep being controlled by syscon (is using the factory speeds, but are like "dinamically boosted"), and the fan will "jump" from a lower speed to a faster and so on back and forth when needed
Additionally, it works at all times, from boot (included over the PS2 emulator where a software plugin is not able to vary fan speeds)

*I dont have any relationship with the seller, is not my purpose to promote his product, if im talking about it here is because it works exactlly as what i was looking for, and is super easy to install

It seems real neat actually...
Has anyone tried this?
I noticed that the seller offers various fan hw mods for each console, like 3 or 4 for ps3 & the same for ps4, xbox...

I used to have one like that probably not exactly the same but the fan speed was adjusted by a potometer anyhow the system still suffered yellow light of death. This was way back before there was even a custom firmware I believe 3.15 was the latest at the time. Have forgotten about that so thank you for reminding me

He has different mods and every one works in a different way, the best is the "green" one that i posted in the link
The others are not worthy imo neither a potentiometer because works by setting an "static" speed and thats not good enought (too open to mistakes, temperature changes are ignored, etc...)
As example, with a potentiometer if you set an static speed that is too low you will have a YLOD for sure in few minutes, and if the speed is too big you will have unneeded noise
In few words... using an static speed is risky and is not efficient, from factory the PS3 controlls the fan dinamically (is a feature), by using an static fan speed you are nuking that feature (so the PS3 is worst because you have eliminated a feature)

The green mod from the link i posted uses speeds that are "dinamically boosted" as shown in this graphic
PS3%20Fan%20Relative%20Chart.png

There is no other mod that does this accuratelly
The point is the fan is still controlled by syscon, the speeds are still dependant of the temperature sensors, all fan functions will work as it was intended by sony engineers... but a bit faster :)

Yea when I did that to my old CECHA-01 we had just gotten 3.56 from Sony so it's been quiet a while. UPS destroyed it anyhow putting a forklift through it after I got it reballed

I'm still wondering y there's a ps4. after all, sony did say the ps3 was future proof.
it was future proof when it came for quite a while, it was the most amazing machine of its time.
but things change and these days, they are changing quite rapidly

Still holds a place in my entertainment center and will for many many years to come. That is why I invested in a "new" CECHB-01 and installed a permanent teensy++

Agreed, PS2/3 games still look awesome on this bad boy :)

Oh Yea no other system (the full BC models) has such a robust library all in one box. Makes a descent media hub as well as a descent emulation center. Never was a N64 fan so no loss there but it does play PSP games wonderfully, at least those I want to play very well. If I had to choose one and only one system it would certainly be my CECHB-01 hands down no questions asked.

PS1/2's black border issue was bothering until I got this new TV, now it's fixable via custom screen size :) yeah, I love my A01 for full features :) though it doesn't have dual teensy installed, I can use E01(w/ Teensy mod) for testing CFWs anytime I want :)

I just apply wide-screen patches to my PS1/2 games no more borders and PS2 I force progressive scan

That doesn't sound right for HWemu (B01), I don't have underscan issue on E01 but A01,

Unless your TV is fixing the size for you, you should have blackborder on the side. All my games are widescreen patched. And I tested both systems with the same games
