Forum Noob
Hello PSX-Place I already know the forum for a long time through the Brazilian channel HardLevel on youtube. I've seen a lot of tutorials, including some here on the forum, my question is how can I be doing to transform a pkg psn + rap file to game folder to add in the GAMES folder on PS3 with CFW envilnat unlock.

Regards,

Look up PSN Liberator it doesn't work for every game but it does work for some I converted a few of my games like Batman Arkham origins Black gate and Castlevania mirror of shadow to ISO format so that I could play from an external

Thanks. I already downloaded psn liberator once, but it didn't run on Wine. I use Linux I'll download it again and try, Thanks I already didn't remember it.

I found a dirty and bad way to "convert" pkg to JB: simply install pkg into RPCS3, then copy the desired game folder from /home/yourusername/.config/rpcs3/dev_hdd0/game/INSTALLEDGAMEFROMPKG

I kinda wanna try this tho.but Im out of practice with modding so I wouldn't know what to do past transferring the files :drunk:

PSN packages can be launched directly from XMB without any backup manager.

I suppose that the purpose of converting it to game folder is to start the game from an USB device (FAT32)

Probably the easiest way to achieve this purpose is:
1. Create a folder GAMEI in the USB device (FAT32)
2. Extract the PKG and put the files inside PS3_GAMEI
3. Copy the rap file to /dev_hdd0/exdata or /dev_usb000/exdata
4. Refresh XML & reload XMB (note: the option GAMEI must be checked in /setup.ps3)
5. Mount the game with webMAN MOD.
6. Launch the game from the debug icon ★ PlayStation®3 (aka ★ app_home/PS3_GAME)

The next time you want to play the game, you only need to perform the steps 5 and 6.

NOTE: The games with files larger than 4GB cannot be copied to USB devices formatted with FAT32.

Apologies if this has been asked but I recently acquired a PSN demo that contains the folder along with its USRDIR, ICON0.PNG PARAM.SFO etc. My question is, could I simply copy its contents from my USB to the PS3's dev_hdd0 in order to play the demo directly from the XMB or would I need to convert the folder to a .pkg?

Actually I just read that simply copying the folder data to the "GAMES" in dev_hdd0 should make the game/demo appear on the main PS3 XMB so I'll give it a try.

it shouldn't appear under Games if it's a pkg game. it should go in dev_hdd0/game , then you rebuild the database for it to appear. the ps3 indexes games for faster loading, so only important things are recorded by the system iirc.
