I have an HDTV that does not support 240p through component/HDMI...here is a photo: https://ibb.co/n6kjbrh

I am sure there are PS2 games that output in 240p only...

How do I view 240p content on my HDTV ? What is more appropriate? Component or PS2 to HDMI adapter ?

I already have the HD Retrovision and a cheapo PS2 to HDMI adapter...

I think there's a way via a soft mod, but I don't know enough about that hack. I use a framemeister myself, but they're very expensive (especially now).

You can force 480i/480p through OPL's built in GSM. Use the NTSC or 480p setting to force 480i/480p output. For non-OPL, you can just use GSM standalone.

If you ever use POPStarter, you won't be able to see anything after the PlayStation logo most of the time since games are usually 240p. You can add a CHEATS.TXT file to your ELF path and write $HDTVFIX to it. This will force a 480i output instead of the 240p.

You're right that there are a few PS2 games that support 240p only. There aren't many, but some of them are famous, like Disgaea (and most of the games related to it) and ICO (but *not* Shadow of the Colossus).

I haven't had much luck with GSM, but I think that's my TV's fault, not a GSM problem. The RetroTINK Multiformat did the job for me: you plug it in and it works, and it passes through 480p and 720p in ways that my TV wasn't handling well through its analog ports. It's on the pricey side, but I suspect it's the easiest solution if GSM and your TV don't get along.
