PS3 I need help with my Super Slim and HEN - is this fixable?

I updated to 4.92 on the Super Slim, installed HFW and then HEN.

All was well until I tried to make PS3xpad work with this tutorial: https://consolemods.org/wiki/PS3:PS3XPAD
There are some instructions for using HEN, it can "brick" the console everytime you run HEN if you mess up.

Hence, this post.

I messed up, I used Filezilla to add "boot_plugins.txt" to dev_hdd0 and now everytime I try to execute HEN the console turns off, not even the red light is up. I have to disconnect the console from the power outlet and plug it back in to make it work again.

Is there ANY way to remove "dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt" without formatting everything? I have some original games and save data I don't want to lose.

put an empty boot_plugins.txt file on usb. enable hen with it in righthand usb slot. delete the one on hdd, remove the usb, and reboot.

delete the file on usb when done so you do not accidently use it later.

I tried that but did not work.

I have also tried:
- Installing latest OFW, then HFW and then HEN again. The console turns off everytime I try to open HEN.
- I read somewhere that if you press R2 while opening HEN, it would skip the plugins. But when I do, HEN closes and nothing changes on the console.

I ended up giving up and accepting I have to format the drive. I will not do it because of some saved games I don't want to lose.

make sure the usb is using MBR, not GPT. make sure it us formatted to FAT32. make sure filename is correct.

are you sure that you are using official hen? the russian one disabled the hotkeys detection.
