PS3 Install PKG Directly from NTFS External HDD CFW/HEN

I wonder would the PKG linker method be possible locally on the console? If webMANs webserver has direct access to the PKG files on NTFS drives (?), then it could in theory create an xml with net_package_install type links to each pkg it finds. The source code for PKG linker is available if it would be any help.

There is a way easier way to do this. plug the NTFS usb into the PS3. Go into the WEBMAN File Explore. Copy and paste the pkg file from the USB to the PS3 "packages" file and then go back to the XMB, Package Manager, and then it should be in the PS3 Storage option. This worked for me

In the original iris, where was used the function create_fake_file_iso_mem() ?
Im curious because i dont remember estwald to tell about this feature, i guess it was not used to build a "virtual" iso with pkg's inside ?
In the original Iris Manager it was used here:
https://github.com/Estwald/irismana...44b511ca1680a3aff7ea0d7e6cd/source/iso.c#L681

The function was created by Estwald to mount any single file in NTFS in dev_bdvd creating a fake iso that point to the raw sectors in NTFS.

It can be used to install pkg files, themes, play videos, music, etc. stored in a NTFS device

Correction. It looks like the WEBMAN File explorer crashes if a file is too big... Just use Managunz file explorer or the explorer built in with MultiMan and it works perfectly

Hello.
I'm having trouble with a 400GB ISO with about 90 games on it. I can mount the ISO and see all the PKGs just fine on the "Standard Folder" and when i hit the "install all files" options, the instalation begins as it should. But about halfway through the PKGs on the drive, the process stops without an error, like it have rechead the end, showing the message "instalation complete". I made a 150GB ISO a while back and everything went fine; does this method have some kind of size or file quantity limit? Or did i do something wrong?
I'm thinking about making the ISO from scratch again, but i wonder if it would make a difference.
Thank you in advance.

I made an account of here literally just to say thank you so much, i've just spent the better part of 4 hours trying to get San andreas to work using op's method and just kept getting errors. I took 5 minutes and tried yours and it's currently installing, this's so much simpler than the other way

Scratch that I couldn't get it to work, when i'd load the game it would get to the ps2 splash screen and my ps3 would turn off. The light on the front wasn't on so I assume it hard crashed

I have done this procedure but now I don't know how to remove the pkg under "Blu-ray and DVD" on WMM games folder, even though I deleted it from my USB already. The path shows "Ntfs0/BDISO/PKG" but there's nothing there: webman mod still recognizes it. Any ideas?

Run prepISO again to refresh the XMB list. The PKG should not appear after re-scan.
