Instant success with Ps3xploit but it doesn't do anything

I have a cech-a01 console on ofw 4.82. Everytime I try to run ps3xploit it finishes both steps very quickly, like sub 3 seconds. And then I reboot and I get "No Applicable Update Data Was Found" when looking for my cfw file. I feel like ps3xploit is not working and isn't doing anything, it doesn't reboot my console or freeze it or anything really, and it allows me to close out of the web browser like nothing happened. I can't find anyone with a similar issue. Has anybody had a problem like this?

Did you have the flash482.hex on the root of your USB Drive? If you done all steps correctly, the exploit chain should work, but just to make sure, try installing a Custom Firmware like Rebug through Safe Mode, usually from the XMB doesn´t work, i could be wrong.

One more side note, the USB flash drive needs to be on the 4th USB port, since its a A01, closest to the BD Drive.

What two steps are you talking about? The dumping & flashing?
When you make a dump do you get any errors in py_checker?

Thanks all for your replies and good advice. I just needed to install the CFW in safe mode. I don't know how I missed that one! Now running 4.82 Ferrox!

So my intuition wasnt lying to me, well better than nothing, little details makes a difference
