PS2 Internal SSD not being detected by OPL

Hi ya'll.

Currently having an issue with my SSD in my PS2 with the Gamestar adapter.
Have been troubleshooting but can't seem to figure it out. I have my settings in OPL set for HDD however when I install the drive it doesn't detect it. Initially I thought it was due to having it set to ExFAT on Windows however I was able to get uLaunchEF to detect it and reformat it. I just can't seem to get it to recognise in OPL. Any suggestions?

My first thought would be to make sure you're running the exFAT Internal compatible version of OPL by Grimdoomer.

I wasn't to begin with but then I changed to the grimdoomer fork and it still wasn't working unfortunately.

That's fair. I decided to go the exFAT route but still having the issue with the OPL GD.

I'm not super familiar as I myself run the APA option, seems more compatible and latest OPL revisions tend to hit there first by default.
I will wait for another user, one familiar with it firsthand, to reply.
It could be something as simple as file directories.

Ok I figured out the issue. It seems that the SSD I was trying to use (Crucial BX500 500GB) is just incompatable. I changed to a Samsung 860 Evo 1TB and it just worked. I'll also quickly write out the settings I used.

I made sure to use Grim Doomer's OPL, followed by formatting the SSD to exFAT and making sure the drive was set to MBR. Then in the OPL settings making sure BDM was set to Auto and inside the Block menu that HDD was set to ON. I also set HDD to Auto and everything seemed to work fine.

Yep, crucial BX500 has issues because its firmware has conflicts with the SCE HDD Commands for security (IIRC)

Hello, how can you tell which disks have firmware issues. I'm suspicious that my Samsung 8TB 870 QVO has issues.
