PS2 Intro & Overview

The "PS2 Application System" project consist of multiple sub-projects, to get stuff done step by step to reach our goal.

TBH this is NOT just a "project", but a "mission".

The goal is to create a standardized structure for apps and some PS2-Related structures like the setup/order/placing/etc. of files or configs.
Why? This would help users and developers alike, to rely on certain things and makes it way easier to manage apps for the user.

These are the current and planned sub-projects:
  • "Unified MemoryCard Setup/System" (UMCS) for core elements of the MemoryCard setup(s). WIP
  • "Save Application System" (SAS), which is used to make Apps on MemoryCard easily detectable, managable (even via the PS2 menu) and seperate them from the core-structure of the MEMORYCARD-SETUP. WIP (although I think we got a lot figured out)
  • "App(lication)[system] Companion Exploit" (A.C.E.), which is meant to make the SAS-"Saves" launchable like HDD-OSD partitions in the HDD-OSD. WIP
  • The MemoryCard-Icon project is for making the MemoryCard-icons for apps or also exploits. WIP
  • Noobie-Package for everyone to easily update their setups, as well as install it on a fresh start. WIP
  • Prepacked APP PSUs to easily get started. WIP Quite some available already, especially of the most used apps like those in the Noobie-Package!
  • APP Store following the standards we set! Planned
  • A Mini-app, which can serve as a Kickstarter for Javascript-Apps or LUA-Apps via the RTEs (Enceladus for LUA, AthenaEnv for Javascript), amongst others. Planned/WIP
  • Support in other apps and showing developers, how they can easily scan for apps following these standards.
  • etc.

Apps and Programms which support SAS-Compliant APP-Folders/PSUs:
  • Open PS2 Loader (recent Betas)
  • RETROLauncher (recent release)
  • PS2HDH (With an intro to SAS-Compliant apps on internal HDD in the HDD-OSD/"Browser 2.0")
  • OSDSYS/HDD-OSD (PS2-Menu)
  • XEB+ via plugins
  • Apollo Save Tool
  • LaunchELF
