PS3HEN Is it best to update ?

So i have a ps3 running on OFW 4.87 so im finna jailbreak it tomorrow to HEN but should i just jailbreak the 4.87 to HFW or should i update and do 4.88 HFW and what are the advantages thx
 
If you're going HEN you're going to have to install HFW either way. Might as well just install the 4.88 HFW imo. You don't need to install the 4.88 OFW first, you can just go directly from 4.87 OFW to 4.88 HFW.

The main benefit is you can go online without spoofing if you're current and from what we currently know spoofing sounds like it's more likely to get you banned since the 4.88 update. So might as well just be current.

There is no advantage to staying on 4.87 either, so really as he needs to install a PUP anyway to exploit it, he might aswell install 4.88 HFW as install 4.87 HFW.

If he already had HEN installed there would be no need to update but it takes the same amount of time to install 4.88 as 4.87 and nothing to gain by being on lower FW.

4.88 has the advantage that he will not need to spoof to go online which can be more risky now due to recent changes. Also it will just install from the XMB on all models, no need for safe mode, so its actually easier to install 4.88 HFW over 4.87 OFW, than to install 4.87 HFW over 4.87 OFW.
