Is it enough to use psnpatch only to access online?

Clarify for everyone once & for all the status of psnpatch on DEX & the possible ins and outs.

We would need a clarification of
1. system version handling by Rebug Mode (statement made in the Rebug CFW Web page).
2. PSN requirements for connection on lower Rebug fw. Can Rebug Mode on cex mode be sufficient to connect?

Sorry guys as I assume you answered these questions a dozen times or more already... Lol

So for now what I understand is that we can't access PSN with lower firmware even if we are on Rebug Rex/Rebug mode as it will not spoof the version of firmware, is that what you meant ?

psnpatch was developed and tested ONLY in CEX.

Syscalls disabling does NOT work in DEX the same way as in CEX.
I do not recommend going online with a DEX system.

REBUG REX/D-REX in CEX, with REBUG Mode no. @bguerville is quite right about this and but we both were on about different methods. You will be asked to update the firmware.

REBUG REX/D-REX in DEX, with REBUG mode, yes (this is where people are getting confused with our disagreement) You will not be asked to update your firmware and can login to PSN. I am logged in right now on Black Ops 2 using the method I described in short above.

(My firmware REBUG 4.82.2 REX on one PS3, for gaming(Logged in now) and 4.82.2 D-REX on the other, for graphics developing, this is what I do lol)

Yup Dex mode lets you online on 4.82.2.

On cex you have to spoof to 4.83 using sen enabler in order to bypass the update,or you can use the proxy server han users are using.
