PS2 Is It Possible to Install a Hard Drive on a PS2 Slim?

I have a SCPH-77003 PS2 Slim and I was wondering if It's possible to install a HDD somehow. In the ps2 home forum I saw a 700xx mod but I don't see anything about my model. If there's no way then I will go with loading games with SMB.

If it isn't possible:
Is a used (with 2 power on hours) 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute SATA HDD sufficient for my setup? I plan to repurpose an unused PC that's been sitting for a while, and I figured this drive would be a great way to put it to use. But I also have some 120GB SATA SSDs

Unfortunately not, the PS2 FAT and Slim only have USB 1.1 ports. You can try it, but games will likely run very slowly (textures and cutscenes).

MX4SIO has nothing to do with SD to SATA adaptors.

It changes your Sata HDD into a SD card via cable, you just need to set the partition size on your computer before formatting it so it's acceptable via OPL.

It should be bi-directional.

Just make both ends male instead.

You could even use a sata to usb 3.0/3.1 caddy, then a usb to sd cable, which might be simplier.

Yes, but it's not practical IMO. Just imagine how much power this configuration gonna sink from a rail which is meant to power a maximum of 2 memory cards. Unless you consider powering everything externally.
BTW, I prefer to simply buy a micro SD card instead of that.

Agreed, it's a convoluted solution for slims if you want to make use of spare hdds, we need ODEs for both the PS2 & PS3 really.
