PS3 Is it worth it to undervolt a non YLOD PS3?

Is it worth it to undervolt a non YLOD PS3, in conjunction with general cleaning, PS3 Bracer, and applying new thermal paste, to extend the life of the original hardware before taking more drastic measures like replacing RSX or NEC Tokens, which the latter is destined to fail at some point?
Any input would be helpful.

I really like using this method on Phat models, and even on my Frankie. It reduces heat generation and fan speed, which also means lower operating noise.

It's definitely worth doing, less heat generation means a longer lifespan for electronic components.

No side effects have been found with this method so far, and I have been using it for about a year.
